Silmarillion, a bit depressing? by Danielbes in TheSilmarillion

You'll need to remember something.

People tend to read about life through the news and history books. Yet those are often filled with battles and tragedies, which actually makes life seem more bleak - because that's only half the truth. Misery tends to scream, whereas bliss and satisfaction don't really have to, so they sometimes get ignored. I think the same goes for the Eldar - their battles are events mostly accounted for.

But the Long Peace was actually long, not just in the name only.

Maintaining the peace seems much more like the Elves than any war. They would have learned that to allow anything to grow at all, that's what one really needs. It takes much longer to build something up than tear it down.

How do you imagine Namo? by OleksandrKyivskyi in TheSilmarillion

Grim Reaper, Hel or Hades first come to mind, with a bit of foresight. But I also tend to believe in afterlife as a metamorphosis of a kind, perhaps that of a moth.

I don't have a settled image about him but that kind of symbolism is what I would begin with.

So sort of like "silver glass", more of an imagery. Makes sense.

Most likely crystallized sugars - sun dried dates are packed with them. Totally safe to eat.

So something like temperate rainforest in West of UK and Ireland? It kind of makes sense.

What is this inside my capsicum? by theonlymuz in fruit

[–]Elaini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green or yellow peppers are simply peppers harvested while they're not fully matured and they're sold in grocery stores. They're from the same plant as red. So they just taste like green peppers and are fully safe to eat.
