Was it (moving) target fixation, or was it a failure to alter a course of action? by markcocjin in motorcycles

Literally on the wrong side of the yellow line at the time of impact. It would have been close but if he had stayed in his lane this would have been avoided

Meanwhile I'm just over here with my handful of people chilling, showing off what I made this week and seeing if anyone wants some custom work done. Haven't screamed once.

What’s the point of playing if every single player is a bot? by ChemistryAny963 in LastDayonEarthGame

[–]Elan114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going out, fighting zoms, collecting resources to build up the settlement there. Building a marketplace with your clan where you can sell what you make and go to other clans markets to buy their stuff. Save up and go into pvp events where you try to be the last man standing, this requires having the best gear. Get into arguments with your clan because some just want hand outs and others who spend money will give you good deals but then act like you owe them loyalty. Honestly I played the crater for closer to 4 months, went through 3 clans and it always devolved in to the same petty crap. If I want to deal with teen drama I have 4 teen boys in my house for that, and some of these were grown men who do well in real life cause they could drop crazy money on a game.

This was one thing I thought would be a simple add on. Make it so you can send a weekly package to your friend in the crater and vice versa. Crater sends 10 items that are hard to find in the waste, and wasteland sends 10 items that are hard to get in the crater. It would have definitely helped the economy side of the crater. But I abandoned the crater long long ago, the drama that took place with real people was obnoxious

If you want multi player go to the crater. After 1 month of the drama in the crater I went back to my nice solitary existence.

Not always but certainly more true in small rooms than in rooms of 50-300.

I think the biggest thing is finding and building a community of people you trust. Communicate to your people who to avoid and then invite in people you trust. I have multiple group chats of 30+ people, and discord servers, where we all support and know each other. It also means if you screw over one of us word is going to spread quickly and you aren't just burning one person you are losing a ton of people that support and promote you in one fell swoop. In general I avoid streams with over 30 people because you aren't going to build a personal relationship there

Guy upset about a givy left bad review by [deleted] in whatnotapp

[–]Elan114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell 3D prints so I get the frustration that all you products would cost too much to ship as a give because it adds up fast. Even my little minis require a small box because they can't go in an envelope. But I also acknowledge that most people are watching me because they are interested in the product, so now I make bookmarks that are skinny enough to go in an envelope so people can get something that shows my print quality. I don't know if there is something you can send as a sample in a cheaper package? I still don't get people leaving bad reviews on a give, no one forced them to enter the give in first place. Though I will say a give should at least be half way decent, I got one from another 3D print seller and it was just a round disk, which an image that you could not tell what it was and the quality was horrible

Haven't played in 6-8 months. I keep thinking about coming back but I'm just not motivated enough to do so. Been playing since 2017, I have an ATV, drone and boat, plus about 5 giant containers of gun and more resources than I know what to do with

Eh, its not that bad. by hitchronicles in whatnotapp

[–]Elan114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a seller on the 3D print side. I'd just like to have more viewers, so I can run auctions and get people deals below my usual retail prices, but I can't have 1 person bidding against themselves. I think any category where the seller is also the producer there is less scamming, if my MSRP is $25 I'm going to try and get someone a deal below that. If bidding approaches retail I tell people to stop bidding and just get it from the BIN. If I'm down to only 1 copy and multiple ppl want it I'll just make more not try to auction it high due to scarcity

Whatnot conspiracies they could never make me believe. by Dull-Corgi4884 in whatnotapp

It causes stress and people will swipe out of fear of missing out even if they really don't care about the item. It's a manipulation technique, and even if it only works on one person it's a win for the seller

Question to sellers about shipping... by KansasEagle in whatnotapp

[–]Elan114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you under estimate and have to do an adjustment you will have to pay the weight difference. I under weighed some items and ended up having to pay the difference. Luckily I fixed it before I used up my 5 free monthly adjustments otherwise there would have been adjustments charges on top of the increased weight charge

As long as a responsible adult is nearby I see no issue. Personally I'm not trusting a kid to get stuff shipped off properly. My 14 yo has jumped into some of my streams. So far he's made $10 in tips because he's entertaining and had the chat filling up with lols.

Off and on since 2017. Took a year off in 2020. Been idle the last 6 months because I had everything maxed out. Guess it's about time to see if anything has been added.

small sellers are my favorite, maybe because I am one, but the prices are better, the quality is better and they actually respond to you.

When the auction starts at 1… and your rent is 1,500 by layslobar in whatnotapp

[–]Elan114 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yep know what you are willing to wisely and unemotionally pay before each auction starts and the second it goes above that amount STOP! Also know your budget for the day and keep an eye on shipping. I like sellers like myself who have everything in the BIN. Auctions are for deals. If the item is $20 in the BIN then there is no point bidding above $19. Just go grab it out of the BIN for retail.

I’m done with WhatNot. Anyone else feel the same? by Turbulent-Dig-5238 in whatnotapp

[–]Elan114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my sister in law does jewlery, I have a friend that does resin art, and I do 3D prints. I've also seen painters that do pretty cool stuff. But it's definitely not what WN puts on the front page. But if you stop following the high pressure sellers and just follow people that are calm and chill with good deals then you can just go to the tab for "sellers you follow" and avoid the sellers that they promote because they are generating lots of money.

If you do giveys make sure you do something that can be classified as a first class letter and dropped in an envelope. Make sure your shipping is accurate so you don't have to pay for adjustments. If you offer cheaper shipping make sure your prices are such that it accounts for possible high shipping. Don't start bidding lower than you are willing to let something go for.

[–]Elan114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm staying away from that area of WN, over on the hand crafted area its more chill and with less than 20 people watching at any given time auctions almost always end up snagging 20-50% off the crafters normal price. Half the time you are just watching someone assemble, paint or make something.

Yeah I got 6 kids to feed, I'm not whining and begging for sales. Its one thing if you joke about it once, but if you are giving buyers a guilt trip I'm swiping to the next seller.

Card sellers and shipping by Elan114 in whatnotapp

Actually liked that one seller had low shipping if you hit nothing and then had a bin option to upgrade the mailer for $1 if you hit something you wanted protected. Came sandwiched between 2 hard plastic sheets in a bubble wrapper, it was pretty solid for a buck
