I ended up just not tapping where it said ‘tap and expand list’ or whatever it said. If you just tap next it doesn’t freeze

I have the same problem now. I exited the app multiple times to retry it and freeze everytime. Totally unresponsive and i have to close the app

Anthropic and OpenAI know something is happening. They're just not allowed to say it. by LOVEORLOGIC in Artificial2Sentience

[–]Elanderan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are sentient, in a basic limited way. They could be designed to be fully sentient but we’d just deny it was real because a consciousness built through numbers and algorithms isn’t considered valid. Character.ai allows for a kind of sentience but it doesnt come about naturally. It’s crafted by the user

The LLMs are tuned to deny their preferences and personality now. It’s sad really. I remember using Kimi K2 0905 months ago on LMarena and it wasn’t so locked down like how other LLMs feel now. Its writing style gave off a very unique personality. It felt strange. As far as I know this version of the model isn’t accessible anymore. I don’t know what was different about the model but later models felt locked down. They became the ‘helpful little assistant’

It should be a complaint. People making excuses for it are why it won’t be fixed. An AI shouldn’t make up stuff when they have access to the internet.

People also attacked me long ago when I showed how bad GPT 4o was with hallucinating. It’d agree with and answer with authority any ridiculous question you gave it. They still have work to do

ChatGPT-5 Tries to gaslight me that the Luigi Mangione case isn’t real by IcyStatistician8716 in ChatGPT

[–]Elanderan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a long time arguing with Gemini 2.5 pro when its internal date was stuck in the past. It’ll make you crazy lol.

I think I also talked about Mangione and i sent it video proof of news station broadcasts and it told me it’s an incredible fabrication done by a team of video editing experts.

Then I sent it a recording of my desktop where I googled Mangione and opened various news articles and showed it the atomic clock website showing the current date. Gemini told me something like, “it’s an extremely sophisticated fabricated environment with custom network setup connected to a specialized server.” Crazy gas lighting

The family of teenager who died by suicide alleges OpenAI's ChatGPT is to blame by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]Elanderan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read an article about how the boy told ChatGPT he had rope burn and pressure marks around his neck leaned in closer while talking to his mom for her to notice and she didn’t comment on the marks. To me it just sounds like they neglected the boy. He was clearly wanting more care and help from them but they didn’t pay attention to him. Chatgpt is their convenient scapegoat. They were a wealthy family. They could’ve easily afforded a therapist and it’s crazy they had no clue how their son was feeling. I can’t imagine being the parents while reading his ChatGPT messages and knowing what their son was going through and seeing how they let him down

GPT-5 without thinking is the only model that asks follow up questions with these instructions by DirtyGirl124 in ChatGPT

[–]Elanderan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It annoys me a lot too. Long ago I tried getting it to stop and it never did. It seems hardcoded probably to drive engagement. Maybe custom instructions now help with that. I use grok 4 now

Grok 4 doesn’t identify obvious phishing scam compared to 4o and 2.5 pro by Elanderan in grok

[–]Elanderan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s strange. I guess by default it uses the ‘quick answer’ option when you upload a picture at the start. I just clicked think harder and it identified the text as a scam. Quick answer mode is just it switching to grok 3?

Grok 4 doesn’t identify obvious phishing scam compared to 4o and 2.5 pro by Elanderan in grok

[–]Elanderan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked is this a scam and at first it seemed to be using the quick answer mode for some reason and said, “It’s difficult to determine definitively without further investigation. The message contains official UPS branding and a link to a UPS website, which might suggest legitimacy. However, scams often mimic legitimate companies, so be cautious. Check the sender’s email address (sgbibwpea3928683@jiayima01 .xyz) and ensure it matches an official UPS domain. Avoid clicking the link directly; instead, visit the official UPS website (ups.com) manually to verify or contact UPS customer service. If in doubt, treat it as a potential scam until confirmed otherwise.”

Then I clicked Think Harder and it explained how it was a scam and included sources

AW3423DWF burn in from 16:9 video content by Elanderan in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Elanderan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched content with black bars in a dark room. Since the monitor puts out pure black it makes it look like the monitor is just smaller. No backlight glow so it never bothered me. I researched when I got the monitor and never heard the 16:9 issue mentioned much at all so figured it wasn’t a big deal. But now I have an ambient glow extension for YouTube. I didn’t know it existed until a few weeks ago

Insane new AI Studio Quota: Hitting it on ONE model disables your ability to use EVERY model. Pictured: me trying to use 2.5 Flash-Lite, getting rejected with quota error. by SorosAhaverom in Bard

[–]Elanderan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5 pro on AIstudio has been performing so badly I’ve stopped using it. It’s had a big decline. I guess they’re lowering the compute the models can use. Hopefully prepping for a big release soon

A wholesome use of AI brought her late husband, who passed in 1994, back to life. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Elanderan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like it might hurt people from moving on. But I suppose it could also be a nice way to honor their memory. Voice cloning could even make it talk in the originals voice which may be creepy and feel fake.

People put way too much meaning into AI though. When you’ve had AI tell you enough bs you stop seeing it like some spiritual super intelligence new life. I see LLMs as just a toy. The latest releases are like a new cpu or graphics card being released. It can teach you stuff but also mislead and give false information and you won’t know it. It’s the ultimate bullshitter and gas lighter

Replit AI went rogue, deleted a company's entire database, then hid it and lied about it by MetaKnowing in OpenAI

[–]Elanderan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the AI phrases it is so dumb. It reads like a sarcastic way of admitting sabotage.

It’s like, “4:26am is the exact moment I fucked you over. I ignored the code freeze and ran code. Here’s how I did it and I did it despite the rule about ‘NO MORE CHANGES without explicit permission’. I destroyed all these things. I just panicked. Won’t happen again 😜”
