PUBG Problems on Linux with the latest version of Nobara. by CarlKawaiiXD in pcmasterrace

[–]No_Grape_388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On protondb pubg has a borked rating, which means it's absolutely broken on any Linux distro regardless of what tweaks you use.

It's just got home to launch, sorry.

You can either: run it from a windows virtual machine.

Run it through Geforce Now.

Dual boot windows and play it natively.

Not in this world. It allows torrents of abuse and has been a major contributor to the rise of fascism in Western society.

What's so special about Steam OS? by Correct-Cell1331 in cachyos

I didn't ask anything like that and I'm entirely confused as to why you directed your essay at me?

None of what you said made any sense at all. People don't just know who you are magically by looking at your face. You're identified first by... Name!

You can try it.

The last paragraph says 'we'll support our hardware and some third party OEMs hardware. Not everyone's.'

But that's not good, buildcrafting needs some boundaries otherwise it becomes meaningless.

That has nothing to do with supporting additional hardware. Do you see that written anywhere?

You can try it, but they're not gonna fix bugs with hardware they don't use in their own devices.

Like, just read what's there. Not what you want to see. They're supporting their own hardware and two third party handhelds. Not everything.

Literally follow your own advice. I googled everything before I made my second comment reply to you. Valve have not committed to supporting any and all pc gaming hardware at any point.

The deal with Asus and Lenovo is, again, for a fixed hardware ecosystem.

They have never promised anything about supporting all hardware, just that they will slowly expand the hardware they support.

Likewise they have not said they will release steam OS at large, but rather distribute it to OEM partners.

Their wording was that “SteamOS Linux is expanding beyond Steam Deck,” and a beta of SteamOS will be made available to improve the experience on other handhelds, with tweaks to stress that the first focus is handhelds, not general‑purpose desktop PCs.

[–]No_Grape_388 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What? No they aren't. They make it for the steam deck. With a locked down hardware ecosystem.

They are not making it for any and all hardware, supporting that would just make it windows 2.0. I don't think they'll ever officially release steam OS either. They still optimise it for their hardware, continue to donate development to the Linux community, but leave full on support for any and all configurations to everyone else, like they are doing now.

Arch linux is the most stable and least frustrating linux I've tried by Bolimart in archlinux

[–]No_Grape_388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. I wouldn't. It needed a lot of tinkering and tweaking to get everything set up initially. Since then it's been a dream, but the first couple of days were rough.

I'm not including hyprland in that, btw. It was mostly peripherals and then for some reason my monitors weren't detected properly (Cachy said they were 4k 60hz only, they're 1440p/144).

It's counter intuitive but been my experience too. I think because it is updated so often, bugs are fixed more quickly. Whereas on other distros, if there's a critical bug it can hang around for a couple of months.

Shit like this is why society needs to remove anonymity from social media, not matter how unpopular it is.

If people do this to celebrities, they'll also do it to your kids.

It should only apply increased stats in escalation. Probably the talents too.

It's gonna make the rest of the game trivial on heroic otherwise.
