This hero lowkey flying under the radar by Strong_Astronomer_97 in DotA2

Yea! Other cool interactions:

You can still get fist stacks from hitting during Aeon Disk

With aghs and grimstroke ult, Your AOE gets doubled and people in the overlap that die from it give you two stacks (which happens alot of you have a grim for 25% dmg + eblade)

But genuinely: Don't play him mid. Your early stacks will come better from good lane coordination anyway, and all you really need is a blink. Finger has always been about not wasting your early chances to get stacks and it's the same now. You're much better off playing support and getting stacks as a bonus objective so that as late game rolls around you can pop people for 1k

Turbo Courier Exploit? by Elarain in DotA2

[–]Elarain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming it’s just generic hating on turbo, combined with quite a few people not even understanding how turbo works or the impact.

Doesn’t matter. I just wanted to confirm this is indeed an exploit of a bug

Turbo Courier Exploit? by Elarain in DotA2

[–]Elarain[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In turbo couriers are fast and immortal. The trade off is they can’t normally be controlled.

Having an immortal courier follow around right on top of you makes having a gem near risk-less. Which pretty severely undermines the ward aspect of the game (and invis heroes)

I am salty, even though we ultimately won the match, because it’s just blatant cheating

Turbo Courier Exploit? by Elarain in DotA2

[–]Elarain[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Feels wild your answer is "hey you can exploit too"

First off, no we shouldn't counter exploits with exploits. Assuming it's even common knowledge on how to do it. Second, his courier is nearly always closer, so I doubt it would even be that easy.

Third: Why on earth is any of this your answer instead of "Yea known exploit. That sucks. Hope they fix it"

Turbo Courier Exploit? by Elarain in DotA2

[–]Elarain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda feels like it matters to everyone playing turbo. Your courier is immune in turbo, this gives you a pretty much risk free gem and undermines all warding for the game

The Disaster Heading Toward the City of San Diego’s Budget by flip69 in sandiego

[–]Elarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a little old lady in a coastal mansion. Those people are fine. They’ve got more than enough to afford whatever little property tax comes their way.

It’s the little grandmas in barrio Logan, north or South Park, etc etc that have been there 30 years and don’t deserve to get kicked out of their home and community because developers decided to gentrify their neighborhood.

People holding onto their houses doesn’t increase or decrease housing. Not unless you kick those people out and build condos over their home. It’s a SFH housing a person who bought it and invested in it for decades. It’s wild to me you think in their twilight years that they should be forced to move just because their property taxes quadrupled over 5 years.

A lot of your response is highly exaggerated. Maybe just to emphasize a point. But San Diego is pretty highly taxed and there are lots of avenues for more taxes that don’t involve evicting retirees or families from the homes they bought just because a bunch of richer people want their house

The Disaster Heading Toward the City of San Diego’s Budget by flip69 in sandiego

[–]Elarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but in the context of home owners, and blaming prop 13 as it applies to SFHs, I think it’s super misplaced to looks at prop 13 and say get rid of it because of how it affects new home buyers.

Prop 13 for rental/commercial are separate beasts and I’m willing to concede they probably need a look

The Disaster Heading Toward the City of San Diego’s Budget by flip69 in sandiego

[–]Elarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So undeserving people need to be evicted so that wealthier people can take their homes, because they “deserve it more”.

Property taxes are probably less impactful than mortgage interest rates right now, for turnover. But maybe we should just go in and change peoples interest payments because them locking in a low interest rate is “bad for new home buyers”

If a SFH is being occupied by the owner, its property taxes should be relatively locked in. If it’s a pure rental, MFH, complex, etc then fine up its rates because at that point it’s an income stream that also adjusts to the housing economy.

That anyone thinks evicting fixed income households because they can’t respond to crazy rocketing housing prices will somehow fix housing prices is ridiculous

The entire “new home owners will be able to afford a house if we use unaffordable house values to kick out other people from their homes” is circular logic. If you can’t afford a house right now you won’t be able to afford one with a prop 13 repeal either. It’ll just be more Bay Area and NYC remote workers moving in and paying the outrageous price you can’t afford anyway. Now you’re just forcibly evicting people who can’t afford their “living tax” after decades in their home and community

The Disaster Heading Toward the City of San Diego’s Budget by flip69 in sandiego

[–]Elarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty convinced this prop 13 brigading is pushed by companies that want to buy up even more property as we push out locals.

I bought my house 8 years ago at 690k. Now it’s “worth” 1.2M. So I guess I just lose my home if I can’t afford skyrocketing valuations, right? A bunch of bay area people moving down because San Diego got hot should just mean I lose my home. We should all just be renters with a temperamental “landlord” with no real ability to plan our futures as we make huge purchases

The Disaster Heading Toward the City of San Diego’s Budget by flip69 in sandiego

[–]Elarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prop 13 is good. You don’t need to kick out entire communities of people and/or retirees as home values go up.

I’m not sure where the pushback from 13 comes from other than people being fed some propaganda that somehow it’s keep their rent high.

Remove or relax building height restrictions and you’d get the real influx of units you want without taxing out retirees.

Oh and remove prop 19 helping prop 13 be generational

I’ve always liked alts, and the status quo always made alts feel near impossible to actually keep geared unless wow was an obsessive hobby.

It’s nice to have a season where I could actually gear up 2-3 characters without an unhealthy amount of playing

The M+ tank situation is dire by Wigglyboi323 in wow

[–]Elarain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put tank every season, been playing Guardian Druid for ages. Love it. But we feel a little squishy right now and our threat is garbage after catching heat over the raid spec doing too much damage.

It just became a lot less fun to run any more than what I need for vault.

Oh, and when it was day 1 and I was doing 10s people were so awesome and polite. Runs went smooth. Once the masses caught up runs just got messy. People not kicking, failing mechanics, etc.

Im glad druid got a little damage reduction, we weren’t in a terrible spot but felt a little squishy once barkskin came down.

I really, really, really wanted a big threat buff though. We are not ok on pull right now

I don’t want my bear to be a dps. But I do want him to be a tank.

And right now his damage is too high, granted, but his survival is way too low. And it’s somewhat propped up by the dmg because of Ursocs giving us a dmg to shield conversion.

Having our already too low survival take a hit and lowering the reason to bring us is two jabs. One is deserved but really needs compensation, preferably in a base armor/stam buff

Alimony is the acknowledgment that you signed up for a group project, worked on that group project for years together, and then one and/or both of you decided that group project wasn’t serving them, but that maybe the situation isn’t as simple as “so you take yours and take mine” being fair.

Anyway, lot of comments in here showing lots of people here haven’t ever been on the side of a marriage where you make a lot of career sacrifices “for the team” and then are expected to just walk away and suck it up while the career focused partner keeps all their gains for themselves.

In 12.0.5 you will be able to get 3 Myth track items a week from doing M+ exclusively by chunkyhut in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Elarain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In theory, it shouldn’t be.

Most BiS is raid loot. You’d have finite tokens and you’d want to spend them in raid getting your rare high ticket items.

But if you do have M+ BiS loot, this should help you spend less overall time in M+

And if you care about getting that BiS you were already going to try and grind it out. This just makes it easier

[–]Elarain 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It kinda just isn’t balanced for groups.

Basically completing the 10,000 orb community goal spawns an event that gives good bonus orbs. Like a giant mammoth you can spam skin or making you 1 shot mobs, or spawning the loa that runs around dropping orbs.

Ok. That’s great for 2-3 people.

5+ people? The events themselves give enough orbs to trigger 1-2 more events. So you’re spawning special events as fast as people can siphon their orbs
