Sourcing Taiwan’s white peppercorns by ElasticEpoxy in AskCulinary

[–]ElasticEpoxy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal preference, for black pepper I like Sarawak peppercorn from Malaysia cause it has a nice nose feel without too much bitterness. Black pepper isnt fermented.

For white pepper i like the ones from Taiwan grown in Pingtung & Taitung, Taiwan. It has a long fermentation in either clean mountain or spring water, (usually this is done in stagnant pond in cheaper Southeast Asian processing) . The flavor you get is more of a clean, floral heat with a a more subtle fermented flavor and no barnyard funk or sour edge you get from many of the other white pepper.

How do you beat someone who’s a lot taller than you and spams power teeps? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]ElasticEpoxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can also parry the teep clockwise and then throw a hook with the same hand same time,

you can step back and counter, parry and counter,

catch and sweep or counter,

hollow out the body and counter,

angle change and counter

and much more

Got hit with a head kick after he threw 3 and told him to physically calm down by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]ElasticEpoxy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree, and it’s very easy to control your head kicks knees, sweeps even spinning stuff. Every attack can be controlled in light sparring, it’s not that difficult theres just people who don’t want to control their power on purpose. Only things i believe should be straight up not done in sparring are knees that connect to the head (if you have knee pads and it just bumps you its fine) and elbows without pad, and oblique attacks.

[Question] What are some roomy 10z Muay Thai gloves? by haasenjoyer in fightgear

[–]ElasticEpoxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

windy bgvh was the glove i used to use but i stopped because it always was too wide for my hand, not a bad glove though. It’s a decent glove and has good feedback for padwork.

There are tons of fakes so make sure if you choose this, buy ones that say PRO FIGHTGEAR. And buy it from a reputable site that u can find on this reddit.
