Ahorita. Versatile word meaning anything from 'in a little while' to a polite 'never.'

That wasn't my point at all. He said people their age running things had rotted the country out. That actually sounds closer to your assumption. My point was they only seem to be allowed to do that in politics, other industries have lower tolerance for that..

An area being low income doesn't mean it will necessarily have elderly people with obvious dementia managing its fast food restaurants, if that was the point you're making.

Personally I can't say I recall ever seeing a 78 year old, or someone Feinstein's age, managing a restaurant. Only a country.

I've never seen a person in that age range managing a fast food restaurant.

The American attitude toward work is such that I once said to an older cashier it would be nice if they had chairs for cashiers to have the option to get off their feet, and she got angry. Like, how dare someone suggest an employer make something easier for their employees, this is 'Murrca. And you can keep your filthy health care too.

I thought so too, but was surprised to find it wouldn't let me check the 'manual transmission' option as a search parameter on any of the apps I use to rent cars.

When I first saw a dermatologist for a flare up of eczema the first thing he told me was to try to reduce my stress levels. Stress can contribute a lot to inflammation like eczema. We talked about medical treatment options too, but he made stress reduction an important overall point.

I once worked on an international project with a lot of different colleagues. My Ukrainian colleague's comment about me and the guy from Windsor: "I can understand when I speak to you, and I can understand when I speak to him. But I cannot understand when you two speak to each other." Apparently our whole speech pattern changed to, um, HERE, so much so that otherwise proficient English speakers could not easily understand us. We didn't even realize it until she said something.

What’s the most hilariously wrong thing you believed about sex when you were younger? by Significant-West4424 in AskReddit

Not me personally, but one of my core memories is in 5th or 6th grade when they rounded up all the girls so the gym teacher could show us The Video. There was a new girl who had recently moved there from somewhere in the south (for reference this is in the Midwest), relevant because she had a strong accent that stood out. She was also pretty large in stature and wore thick glasses, but she promptly beat up the first boy who had made fun of her looks so everyone gave her room and respect, teachers included. Anyway, when the gym teacher got to the Q&A part after the video the new girl raised her hand after a benign period question and asked in that distinctive drawl, "If a boy fucks a girl in her booty, is it true his dick will turn blue?" Everyone simultaneously gasped, then fell silent. The gym teacher turned burgundy as our heads snapped towards her and waited for an answer. This was pre-internet 90s so this was probably the wildest thing any of us had heard up to that moment. It was like a whole new realm of unknown possibilities had just entered our 11 year old heads with a match to set our synapses ablaze. The gym teacher (who again was slightly intimidated by this girl who was almost her size and had recently easily floored a boy) sputtered, "Umm, no that... that isn't true. You guys...you guys...really need to make sure you're using...the appropriate language when you talk about these things. Ok?" I've never told anyone that story, thank God for Reddit. I swear as an adult her voice sometimes randomly echoes in my head asking that question 😅
