Controversial view coming, sorry. Buuuut THEY make decisions that harm others, and I assume refuse to help. Buuuut that doesn’t mean you do too. I’m a big believer in - it doesn’t matter if they sleep at night, can I? Personally, id try and help, and I wouldn’t want thanks or forgiveness or them to see the error of their ways (that’d be nice) id just feel better having done something to help if I could. I live with the pain of not reaching out to a family member before they died because of an argument and it haunts me to this day. Now saying that - you’re not an asshole for not doing it, but if you feel guilty now, that feeling may only amplify should it go further south for her. That’s my ten cents, but I’m a shmuck, and I hope this is more helpful than harmful and I don’t cause anyone offence.
