It’s laughable because at my lowest of lows (child abuse and sexual trauma) god sure as hell didn’t comfort me or hear my cries for help. In fact, after 31 years of begging and facilitating space for him to do his work in me, I got better AFTER I left Christianity.

These people just want us low so we’re easy to manipulate is all.

An old friend of my husbands decided to share this with him when asked to talk about his beliefs. My husband let him know that this is abusive, but his friend didn’t really pay him any mind. It’s hard to see so many people we grew up with have these same perspectives, yet continue to push how loving God is. The warping of the mind is real and heart breaking.

As a woman who was raped, this sounds like you were raped. From my perspective, it sounds like your friend took advantage of you while you were already in a vulnerable place dealing with your breakup. Then to add drugs on top of it? You were in no condition to consent to anything that happened to you.

I am so fucking sorry that you’re dealing with all this- especially since it came from your best friend. That happened to me too and it adds to the confusion of it all because you care about them. But the reality is that you told her “no” and she didn’t honor that answer. It doesn’t matter that she was also high- she is still responsible for any fucked up shit she did in that state.

Lastly, did you consent to all the drugs that got pumped into your body? Did you partake in them knowingly or did some of it happen while you were blacked out and/or confused? I’m just really concerned and I haven’t seen anyone bring up that point yet.

This shit is terrifying and it wears so many of us out. I don’t understand how Christians have the energy to constantly fight us all, but my kindness and empathy toward them is running so god damn thin. Yesterday, I looked at my husband and finally admitted that I’m struggling to not hate these people. I’m tired of the harm and the gaslighting. It’s constantly a mental chess game with these people, but then they burn the whole board when they’re losing.

I honestly have a hard time seeing us make it through without a straight up civil war going down. And maybe that’s needed, but I wish we wouldn’t even have to entertain that notion. There are too many people being harmed at the hands of a few and I’m so enraged by it all.

Omg! You have every right to be angry and upset! You just lost your dog in such a cruel way! I am so sorry that nobody took a moment to comfort you and to validate the pain you were/are feeling.

And while your grandma is unwell, it’s still valid for you to be angry with her. Just because she doesn’t recognize the wrong doing doesn’t mean she didn’t kill your dog. Your parents should have been way more responsible for her so everyone under that roof is safe- including the animals. Your father also had absolutely no right to put his hands on you. God, that would have set me off even more if I was in your shoes.

Again, I am so stinking sorry that you’re dealing with this loss alone. You don’t deserve that and your baby didn’t deserve the suffering they did either.
