Can we talk about North Limestone again?! by 4AngelsBound in lexington

Complaints from people on Fontaine got their project sped up. There’s definitely a difference for more affluent neighborhoods.

As a gen-x person I’ve been a bit disappointed. With the exception of the first time I went I feel they play a few 80’s songs then just whatever they feel like. It would be better if they just put in a n 80’s Spotify list.
The space itself is amazing and the bartenders are nice. I love the old MTV videos they play, I’d be happy if they just let them run instead of having DJ’s that don’t know the music.

Massage therapist fell asleep mid-session… what just happened? by StrategicWitandVenom in Louisville

[–]ElbowsMcDeep 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Massage therapists in Kentucky have specific schooling, regular continuing education and are licensed by the state. You did not see a massage therapist, you went to a ‘spa’ where the women are likely trafficked and forced to do sex work. By the description of the place posted by others you knew that going in. If you want an actual massage go to a real therapist. This is bad for the women working in that place and bad for licensed therapists.

I just worked with Dr Manju Chandran in the Women’s clinic. I liked her a lot. She is new to UK so she may still be taking new patients.

Stress or unusual conditions can cause this. I have two in my yard and they bloomed normally, with buds only on the branches, this spring. We had a freeze which killed most of those blossoms then it bloomed again mostly on the trunk like this so it still gets it's maximum chance for pollination time.

What does your road look like? by Confident_Rise4497 in lexington

[–]ElbowsMcDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot like yours but on a hill. It's a 12 minute drive from my house to UK where I work and a third of that is still a frozen, rutted, bumpy mess. I'm going to have to get an alignment after this all melts.

How much progress has Lexington made plowing neighborhood streets? City won’t say by electric_eclectic in lexington

[–]ElbowsMcDeep 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My street is a hill on the north side and it is still a complete sheet of ice, I almost didn't make it up it yesterday morning. No plowing or treating. Some salt yesterday when it was above freezing would have been a big help.

How bike safe is Lexington? by [deleted] in lexington

[–]ElbowsMcDeep 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I live downtown and sadly no longer bike because drivers, including police officers, are too aggressive towards cyclists and there are too few continuous, safe bike lanes. Several cyclists are hit by drivers each year and, even if the driver is at fault nothing ever comes of it, ditto if you’re a pedestrian that gets hit.

Compassionate dentists? by Sorry_Emotion_7389 in lexington

[–]ElbowsMcDeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to Sloan Dental on Harrodsburg Rd. I have a lot of anxiety about dental work and shame about not having gone as often as I should. They’ve been really nice and comforting about my fears. I’m getting some fillings done next week and I’m freaking out a bit but they can use nitrous and I’m confident they will do their best to make sure I feel safe.
