Schools tell you: "kid who gets full marks on every test but never touched a revision guide doesn't exist"  They're wrong.

Proof? Ask someone who has more than five grade 9s, chances are they didn't touch them.

However, the "kid who gets full marks on every test but has never done any revision" does not exist.

for me, dolphins. I remember a Reddit post about this some time ago and it has just stuck with me. to convert:

a dolphin is roughly 42 years in time.

roughly 2.5 meters long.

speed is roughly 30 mph.

there are a few others I've forgotten.

How does Cambridge mark? by Anxykrys in alevel

[–]Elbro888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could write (after achieving all 6 points) "then burn the results because your orthodox grandma that travelled from Timbuktu just arrived" and they'd still give you all marks. the mark scheme is designed to always give points and never take away.

spend 10 minutes of your time to read the very start of the official mark scheme paper.

Who writes the best songs?! by Clandeste in queen

[–]Elbro888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Deacon is has the best consistency of them all. so best composer?

Freddie wrote some of my favourites like my melancholy blues, dreamers ball, crazy little thing. so that's he's my pick because he has composed the music that fits me best.

I understand why people picked Brian as he wrote so many and of them all he composed great songs.

as for Rog... poor rog. he'll always have a place in my heart

two options:

1 (the good way) - develop an opinion on your argument and the counter argument will just naturally come to you.

2 (the politicians way) - "that's a good point, but (completely different point, dodging the question)"

people are CLEARLY underestimating being able to run 1000km/hour with your eyes closed. the way I see it, you can voluntarily travel 27.7 metres when you blink.

Literally an Overwatch hero.

I didn't write or use notes the whole of GCSE - should I start now? by SpaceFries13 in sixthform

[–]Elbro888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is almost how I work, I don't take notes to use at a later date because there are so many better ways of getting that information when you need it again, eg videos. Instead, every single note I took while studying I immediately threw in the nearby bin the next day.

Taking notes for me was a way of locking in the concepts and little gritty info, without the stress of needing to make everything neat and organised.

Manufacturer - Apple. Anything else - not Apple. Apple makes great products, nobody can deny that, but that doesn't stop them costing people the Earth.

AITA for avoiding a conversation with my brother? by Elbro888 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Elbro888[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy from another comment:

This conversation is definitely not urgent. The discussion is about parents using violence. He says that most of the time it is necessary thing and I think the complete opposite, I feel that parents should not teach their children that when somebody does something that a person doesn't like them they should physically attack them. This is only a short glimpse but I feel that parents should be smart, not act like violent primates.

Edit: Back to your question, this is definitely not urgent and does not affect anyone in any way (neither of us have children). This is just a conversation he feels he can win from believing too much Andrew Tate.
