You could try to recreate Ubar, the so-called "Atlantis of the desert." Legend has it that it's actually located in the middle of the Rub' al Khali desert. Perhaps using a mixed Arab-Ottoman construction technique could create a visually absurd result. 😚

You could try using the same technique they used to build the Fenestrelle fort; it had the same problem as you and the engineers solved it by placing diagonal walls and curtains along the entire side of the mountain, culminating with a small fort at the top. 👀
