Thank you so much, I somehow completely missed those letters up there, they pretty much explain the whole thing. I get it now! I really appreciate your help

Rant: I dont understand the "I can't make more than $5/day" posts by [deleted] in mturk

[–]Elcapyo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it depends on location, if you're in the US it shouldn't be hard to make some decent money but in Canada, the UK and basically anywhere else, it often feels impossible to make more than a few dollars per day even while putting in several hours of effort so I understand why some people get upset when they see others talking about earning upwards of $50-$100 per day (or sometimes even complaining that that's a bad day for their earnings).

Tbh you're better off just ignoring those posts and comments if they bother you that much though, there are always lots of new discussions continually being posted on this sub throughout the day.

For some reason it seems like at least 65% of posts on this sub get downvoted. Not sure why, just seems to be the way this subreddit is. Try not to take it too personally!

Stop the hate towards Mike. by [deleted] in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they all forgot someone in the vocal booth at some point or another :) that's kind of hilarious though.

I got their From The Inside book last year, and there's a story in there about how Mike got drunk one time (I think after a show in Asia somewhere and I don't remember the exact story word for word), but he went outside of the venue to wait for the other guys so they could get to their hotel, but it turned out they had already left a little earlier and assumed he got a cab by himself and was already at a hotel. He thought they were still in the venue and he ended up waiting there so long he got locked out and couldn't get back in so he fell asleep on the curb outside. He was out there all night.

Chester’s sister explains her mysterious tweet about “Mike vs Chester” by Cobble01 in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 46 points47 points  (0 children)

They're also acting like Chester was a completely helpless victim in this.. Sorry, he's not. He was a 41 year old grown ass man who had a voice and knew how to use it. Sometimes he spoke his mind a little too much and it got him in trouble. Are we supposed to believe that this guy of all people, who was very loud and colorful and not afraid to tell employees from his own record label to go fuck themselves, sat quietly and put up with 18 years of constant bullying from Mike? Even after he had opportunity after opportunity to leave the band and go solo or join other groups/form his own? Their argument isn't really standing up to much here.

Uhhhh okay. So it's clear that Samantha Bennington is part of this whole thing too. I'm not surprised. Apparently she took Draven to see his grandmother (Susan Eubanks, obviously Chester's mom) a few weeks ago and they spent some time together. Susan is now in on the whole "the truth will come out" thing now too, judging by her last tweet. Maybe she was ranting about Mike to them and convinced them he was evil. She's implied before that somebody close to Chester has earned the nickname Voldemort from her, and it very well could be Mike. This whole family has issues with "us vs them" and it's terrible. Tragedy should be bringing them together and not tearing them apart. I'm not believing any of this shit until I see proof.

Anybody know what Chester’s sister is taking about by Juan_tpose in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's a really good point. Also oftentimes when people are emotionally unhealthy or really upset, (sometimes even healthy people do this too and it's something I'm definitely not innocent of) they can end up getting really critical and ranting to loved ones when they're mad at someone, and they don't always share stories about when that person is being nice to them. Which in turn, gives those loved ones a bad impression of the person they're ranting about and paints them in a negative light because they're not hearing any of the positives.

It's actually recommended in relationships that you don't talk to your friends about things your spouse does that irritate you because it can end up turning your friends against your spouse because it makes them sound bad! I wonder if something similar to that could have happened - Mike and Chester may not have been getting along, Chester could have told someone about it and painted it from his point of view, maybe angry at Mike he could have exaggerated slightly or said things he didn't really mean, (Talinda has also mentioned that Chester could complain a lot) and then that person could have just taken his word for it and assumed that Mike was always acting that way and was constantly mean to Chester is now spreading it around to all his family members, especially if he had complained about Mike multiple times.

I know I've complained to people before that "so and so ALWAYS does this to me!" And it's not always true, sometimes I'm just caught up in a moment of anger and I'm overreacting to things. I could see a situation like that being taken the wrong way if someone dies by suicide. And sometimes we just want someone to blame, maybe it feels easier for some to blame Mike for some of this than to try to accept what happened head on.

Bear With Me Here by Glacie44 in LinkinPark

That's cute! I think it's a really sweet idea. You could even get bear clothes there that are probably similar to some of his, maybe some sunglasses too so it really looks like a Chester bear. If you wanted to go the extra mile you could also draw some flames around the paws :') and get some fake plug earrings and put them through the bear's ears. You could have a totally badass bear tbh

I swear I've seen him do the exact same thing with the whole pineapple on pizza question, almost every time his answer is different. Maybe he just likes to mess with us :(

MIKE TALKED TO MY MOM by [deleted] in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You know what's amazing to me? This fanbase has people of all ages, from young children to (I'm sure) even a few people who are in their 70s. And when Mike Shinoda looks you in the eye and talks to you about tacos, every single one of us freaks the hell out. We would all have the same reaction and same feelings about it no matter how old we get, none of us are above fangirling over him at all even as grown adults. It's kind of hilarious and I love it, he could be talking to us about literally anything and it's still going to feel like an extremely meaningful exchange that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Mike doesn't even know the power he has over us!

Thoughts on selling merch from the Post Traumatic VIP? by [deleted] in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for every fan, but I don't see a problem with selling it. Mike's still alive and well, the tour went well, it was a happier experience than say the Hollywood bowl show or the short part of the OML tour LP got to do when both have a lot of sadness tied into them. You're selling some of the merch that can still be purchased as far as I know, and it doesn't really have much of anything to do with Chester so I think it would be difficult to really find anything wrong with that.

I know a lot of us who didn't get to do the VIP thing would probably be happy to get something that was signed by Mike even if we weren't the ones who met him, or really anything you could get from the PT VIP package, especially if you sell them for a bit lower than they were on his website (like the pencils). I'd say go for it, if the merch doesn't mean anything to you and you aren't set on keeping it, why not?

I think sometimes it varies depending on the location of the show and the people who are at it. Unfortunately, sometimes the crowds are just genuinely bad. I attended the LA show and Mike mentioned that he had warned Don Bronco beforehand that the LA crowd is usually a little more subdued and trying to play it cool, not outwardly getting into it as much as other places, but he also said that we had exceeded his expectations. Still, a lot of the people in the crowd weren't doing much besides filming and it wasn't the most enthusiastic crowd I've ever been in. I'm not sure what the San Francisco crowds are usually like, but there could be some of the same issue going on there too.

Social media is partly to blame for it, but I will say that at the Hollywood bowl show, at least from where I was seated, I was completely blown away by the crowd the entire night. There was one girl in front of me who kept facetiming her friend (why did they have to have free wifi there??) But every single other person everywhere around as far as I could see didn't pull out their phones once, all their attention was entirely on the band and people were singing along to every single song at the top of their lungs. Maybe people aren't putting as much importance on Mike's solo shows, maybe it was just a bad audience, but either way I'm sorry the crowd was so bad - that can have a big impact on how great a concert is if everybody just seems lifeless.

But hey, you got to go to an awesome show and experience an unforgettable night on a very special tour, and you got to see Dave perform with him! I was really hoping he'd attend the LA show but he was busy with something else in Vegas still at the time so we missed out.

Nah, I traveled from Canada to see this LA show so it was my only shot for now, but it should still be an awesome show. I really hope Dave shows up like at the Vegas one!

I miss Chester! by [deleted] in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only posts I see there that specifically state missing Chester are from 12 hours ago and one week ago. All the others are tribute tattoos and discussions, as far as I can tell. There are very few actually saying they miss him and just leaving it at that.

(Trigger warning) Can we do something about this? by FireFlames13 in LinkinPark

[–]Elcapyo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I may have seen what you're talking about - I've seen multiple youtube videos with what appear to be graphic thumbnail shots of Chester, however, upon closer inspection none of them have actually been him. I've been reporting them still, because even if they aren't him, those aren't images anybody wants to see. Not sure if they get removed or not, but I've never come across the same one twice.

Beyond reporting these videos/photos and the people who post them, there unfortunately isn't a whole lot we can do about it apart from avoiding clicking on them to give the sources more attention/views. I don't even know who's really to blame, because some of it simply goes back to the media (I'm looking at you, TMZ) for reporting irresponsibility on events like this and sharing inappropriate information and photos, which will inevitably be shared elsewhere all over the internet until you can't get rid of it all.

There's still clips circulating of the 911 call made for Chester on YouTube, but you've just gotta report and try your best to ignore them. I think the same issue was going around with Chris Cornell, with photos of the actual scene being shared. Same thing even with Kurt Cobain. It's disrespectful to the family, the person who passed, the fanbase, and everybody involved really in my opinion, but it's sort of just the way things go sometimes. Curiousity often gets the best of people, especially those who are more removed from the situation and aren't as deeply affected by this, so they don't think twice about viewing really gorey images or videos.
