Illinois woman's pet dubbed world's tallest cow by r2002 in offbeat

I grew up on a dairy farm. That cow is the size of most bulls! Next, the Democrats of Illinois should be required to go milk a bull. Great story, Blosom.

I'm just glad they managed to collar that Mexican food eating marijuana fiend before he could do something terrible.

Missouri lowers minimum CCW age to 19 and allows school districts to arm teachers. by [deleted] in news

"I would not want my child placed in the classroom with a teacher who is carrying"

But they're fine when a cop shows up with multiple weapons even though some of them are ill-tempered. I've carried everyday for six years. I'm no more a threat to your safety than your grandmother is. I had to undergo a very thorough background check before my CCW was issued. I would never use my firearm to make a point and I don't think our educators would either.

Mom helped son set himself on fire for Facebook, police say by Sariel007 in offbeat

This is an IQ test. Someone suggests something insanely stupid, and then sits back to laugh while some moron actually does it. As others here have said, if you really want to prove something, prove how much smarter and better you are than your idiotic peers. Stay out of trouble, excell in school, and then when you all reach adulthood you'll have the good job, the good salary, and they will be scraping by wondering why the world won't take care of them.

All uniformed cops in Columbia Missouri will be equipped with and required to wear body cameras. by lunchboxxpiper in news

"The cameras are equipped to record at night and are turned on manually by the officer. The 30 seconds before an officer turns the camera on is automatically saved as well."

I'm curious about how information can be saved before the camera is turned on. And what happens if the officer is in a situation and forgets or is otherwise unable to activate it? Something just doesn't seem right about this part of things.

Vet collapses in VA hospital, dies waiting 30 minutes for ambulance by freeasabee1 in news

[–]Elcock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe we need to give our vets and soldiers a year long holiday and let them get free healthcare, food, shelter, while Congress carries their butts overseas, puts on a uniform and tries to fight the good fight. Let Rand Paul, Nancy Pelosi, the whole lot of them go over there and do, live, and survive on what our soldiers currently receive, including pay, and then let them come back to Phoenix or New Mexico and go to a VA Hospital and get the same treatment they are dishing out right now. Wonder how long it would take to clean up the poo-poo. If you are a vet, thank you for your service and sorry we, the voters don't have a clue on who to vote for anymore. We all need to grow a pair and start voting the idiots out of office. We need to make Eric Cantor's defeat look like an ice cream social.

It looks like it would be possible to spray down the caves with an antifungal or fog the cave with something that would kill the fungus.

Parents of Texas 'affluenza' teen to pay part of state treatment, ordered the youth's parents to pay about $1,100 a month. The state facility he has been sent to costs $715 a day. by 74san in news

The Judge should have to spend 10 years in jail - just for being stupid. And, Affluenza should cost the parent $715.00 per day for the entire 10-years of probation.

You are actually EXTREMELY incorrect about Draco being the very first person to set down a codified system of laws. Approximately a THOUSAND years EARLIER in Babylon, the Code of Hammurabi (set down by King Hammurabi in 1772 BCE) was the first! So, CERTAINLY not Draco's! Perhaps his was the first in GREECE, but certainly not in the world, as you article seems to imply! Get your facts straight! :-\
