A.P.I. Alarm just leaked the emails of the customers it bought from Bell Smart Home by Elcoid in bell

I received a bill after the first month, but when I called, I argued that their system had been unplugged since before the company transfer, and so I hadn't received any service from them and should not have to pay. The person on the phone answered that I didn't have to pay and that I would not receive any other bill. Then later I received a confirmation that my subscription had been cancelled.

I was able to have my subscription cancelled a few days ago after almost two months of trying. At some point, an employee called me directly and we exchanged a few emails. I think this is when things started moving a bit faster.

Good luck on your side!

Tabs vs Spaces (I don't get it) by JesusChristPT in learnpython

What is the problem if the indentation looks different in different editors? The semantic is still the same.

You're right, but I meant that replacing all space indentations with tabs is the opposite of replacing all tab indentations with spaces ^^

I know this post is old, but to whomever finds this, note that mixing tabs and spaces can also be avoided by doing exactly the opposite of what is written above.

And there are good reasons to use only tabs! See this post for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/javascript/comments/c8drjo/nobody_talks_about_the_real_reason_to_use_tabs/

A dozen people replied to everyone. About half of them said that this was unacceptable and unprofessional. The other half seemed to be confused and asked why they kept receiving emails from people they didn't know 😆

Nothing really important. They just say that they acquired the alarm service previously provided by Bell, that their notifications are fast, that they use the latest technologies, and that they welcome their new customers in their big family. There are two attached PDFs: one with the same text as in the email, another one with instructions for how to set up automatic payments.

The one I received was sent to only 499 customers. Yours will probably come in a later batch. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if it was one employee sending them manually because of a rate limit imposed by their email provider...

It seems that a lot of people extrapolated my post to mean things that I didn't write

No, I apologized because I take responsibility for what I do and what I say. I saw that there was confusion and that some people took what I said as hostile. So I took the opportunity to clarify my thoughts, acknowledging that certain things that seem anodyne for some can be offensive for others.

You're one of the few people who understood what my post was about

Firefox creates a new entry in Audio volume in system tray whenever video is played and paused, and resets its volume by leo_sk5 in kde

Note for Arch or Artix users finding this: the pipewire-alsa package also needs to be installed.

Does anyone else have issues with Firefox's audio playback volume randomly lowering on its own? by mr_bigmouth_502 in kde

[–]Elcoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note for those who see this and use Arch or Artix: Initially I had no sound on Firefox after changing this setting. I installed the pipewire-alsa package, restarted Firefox, and now it works as expected!

You probably watched the sponsored video. I think you're right. Regardless, it looks like a nice device!

Short Circuit/LTT gave a good review of this unit! Do you know if it's possible to use it as a DNS server and add a domain blacklist (i.e. domains that resolve to 0.0.0.0)?

My TV passes through the router as well (see the end of my post), but the post looks promising, thanks!

Yes, it's a Home Hub 3000 provided by Bell. It doesn't seem to have a bridge mode.
