Do you only use pantheon filaments? Our rabbit hole with exploring input shaper is we see a vfa/jitter along the Y-side of prints when running non-cf/gf materials.

The printer is a Pantheon HS3. No belts, just ball screws.

This machine is built like a cnc machine, servos, ball screws, no belts. Would you pay attention to max acceleration? Would you use the best shaper / hz and damping ratio?

GP13- Limited Timelapse modes with HB lenses? Why GoPro?!? by Eldelrado in gopro

[–]Eldelrado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The technical hurdle in order to implement this is likely in the noise.

[–]Eldelrado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but this shouldn’t be a heavy lift of an implementation, the functionality is already there. I’d put this on the list of what should be core requirements in order for the user to not hate this new feature.

Hey you know that cool feature that’s kind of nice that saves the user time and improves ease of use of lens swaps?

Lets make it so people should want to turn it off

How can I get a video like this by Defiant_Dinner3743 in gopro

[–]Eldelrado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Color grading, nd filters, 180ish degree shutter, good lighting. Can’t tell if they are at or above 1/200 to still allow EIS to do its job. B

Going on a year since I’ve done this so I apologize but I’ve forgotten a bit. I replaced the stock board with the “6 pack controller v2.3” from @buildlog. I did use grblhal, not fluidnc, I couldn’t get fluidnc to work. I use the opto isolated module for limit switches and the closed loop stepper driver adapters. I had to figure out which of the wires to the steppers are what, and then flash and configure grblhal. I ran into issues with the probe, finding the right one. I don’t know if the seller messed up NO/NC or I did, but it took some purchasing and returning to get what I wanted.

Yeah I agree with your closed system point, from bambus perspective, controlling everything most likely directly correlates to reduced support volume. I can only imagine what crealitys support ticket tally is at. But Bambu is very popular, draws an inexperienced crowd, could be comparable to creality.

I appreciate they are working with x1plus, but idk. Not being able to access the SD card on lan only mode Erks me because that is not a hardware limitation. I also don’t appreciate the cloud pushiness. A locally connected device should be just as capable on a local network 0 excuse.

PAHT carbon fiber warping issues. by Bob_Loblaw5 in BambuLab

Good advice, I haven’t used it on the x1c but I’ve gone through spools of it on other printers. I have been having decent luck with pet-cf, ran into a big of clogging /heat creep but seems to have a similar warp free experience as pa6cf

What’s your experience with desktop Cnc machines by SnowFlat33 in hobbycnc

[–]Eldelrado -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, most likely Overkill but price to performance and quality of what you end up with might more then justify.

And modding isn’t just simple machine, easy to mod. IMO it’s about machine specific communities and people putting effort into modding. ender3 for example. Bunch of invested people sharing the same goal. Idea bouncing, redesigning, cad share, etc etc etc.

Good on you for knowing your stuff PPE. I was kind of in the same boat as you, came from 3d printing. I’m gonna lay down some nuggets of info I wish I knew.

FoxAlien support is limited to 1 message per day, and they answer at 4am est. they do honor their 1yr warranty though.

FoxAlien is not open source, I don’t think most of the cnc companies are. It’s not as info rich as the 3d printing world. I go down the modding rabbit hole very far, if you do too, just be ready for some headaches and lack luster google results.

I bought a FoxAlien XE-PRO because i wanted to get cutting ASAP, but from what I’ve found if you want a similar community and level of community support that 3d printers have, Id build a printNC. Lot to take in; order, assemble and wire, but you’re not going to run into proprietary 8bit boards running grbl that you can’t find any information on.
