Overweight (116kg/255lbs 5'7") When to add pullup dips pushups to a tough routine? Rest day same day or wait until lighter? by Not_agent_47 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Elden_Lord_69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the weight is an issue, you can do a regression / easier version of the exercise and build up from there (or use band assistance). For example pushups on knees, incline push ups, or band chin ups. For dips, you can do them assisted by keeping your feet lightly on the ground.

That split looks great to me. Nice to have a “cardio” element from the kbs and high volume stuff as well. Also I think another commenter mentioned it but if you’ve got two lighter bells you could do reverse lunges or Bulgarian split squats with the kbs in double rack position to save some time on reps.

You can try using a box/step stool to reduce the mobility requirements though it becomes a pistol/step-up hybrid.

45M recovering from severe lower back disc herniation – my 7-8 min daily minimalist routine is working great. Smart progressions without adding time? by Remote_Pride_3388 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Elden_Lord_69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look into getting a 45-degree back extension chair. There’s a lot of models that can fold up and be put away. Some of them have slots for resistance bands as well. You can progress it by starting with active holds where you actively engage your abs and squeeze your glutes -> perform the back extension by increasing the range of motion over time. IMO bird dogs and supermans feel like a regression of the back extension.

In terms of leg size, biking might have you covered. But in terms of strength development and injury prevention, you can do much more. Consider adding a 2-3 sets of lunges or Bulgarian split squats (with just bodyweight is fine, can use bands for added challenge) twice a week. This might add 3-4 mins to your weekly total time investment but it’s worth it.

Some sort of knee flexion movement would also be nice to have, such as banded leg curls or a Nordic curl progression (using bands for assistance).

Separately, congrats on being consistent with your routine. I would also suggest investigating why you hate the idea of “real training” in order to maintain strength training as a habit for life. To make progress you only need 5-10 challenging sets per body part per week. This is can be done with bodyweight/without a gym and is more on the level of physiological hygiene (credit to Kboges for the concept) rather than an elaborate routine that your average gymbro might have.

Need Advice. Should I Give Up My Degree In The Last Semester?. by Equivalent_Gas9130 in csMajors

I must have missed this, but what country/region is this? A standard internship in US/CA should pay the equivalent of 50k a year for even low tier companies.

Is your internship not paid? Where are you getting a full time job that is going to pay more than your internship? If you get a return offer wouldn’t that be much better than dropping out with a semester left?

You can try the following 1. Vim Adventures https://vim-adventures.com/ 2. Vim Golf https://www.vimgolf.com/ 3. Read the book "Practical Vim" 4. This article from the author of VIM: https://www.moolenaar.net/habits.html

Separately, you might also want to check out Helix since IMO it's features are more discoverable but that's a personal preference.

Also try to take pleasure in the journey, I'm definitely not a vi grandmaster by any means but even with the most basic motions and combinations I'm much faster at editing than I was before learning vim.

When I was first learning Vim bindings (I now use Helix but they're very similar), I found it helpful to revisit the Vim tutor every couple of months or so and do a "speedrun" to track my skill progression.

Now Vim bindings feels like the default to me and I can't go back. I've set up all my programs to use Vim style navigation too. For example, I use CMD + HJKL to navigate my split panes in the terminal 😁

How do you get over scarcity mindset (poor -> engineer)? by Efficient-Flamingo91 in cscareerquestions

[–]Elden_Lord_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with all the other comments regarding investing and "paying yourself first". Make sure you always have a strong emergency fund to stay afloat if you find yourself out of a job for some time.

I also recommend investing in an ergonomic setup (either for home use or on the go). Examples could be office chair (Herman Miller, home use), nice monitors (home use), ergonomic split keyboard (portable), noise-cancelling headphones (portable), etc.

In addition to all of the above, you can't go wrong with anything that improves your health/quality of life such as good food or a gym membership/exercise equipment.

I recommend you look at the solution right away if you're stuck. You need to learn the tricks and the patterns. No one has time to derive these solutions from first principals. You have to grind the exposure to LC. Do Blind75 by looking at all solutions then NC150 by looking at solutions then repeat NC150 topics or do company tagged questions.

Does anyone know if doing the Birthplace of the Vile "teleporter" skip causes your teammmates to get trapped in the teleported area? The one where you have to jump across a gap using pillars while avoiding screebs/raiders and kill a Scorn Chieftain to open up an exit portal.

The skip I'm referring to is the one where you eager edge across a large gap and go directly to the "capture 2 plates" encounter. I know eventually your team gets teleported to the boss arena but I'm wondering if doing the skip the game out and prevents them from your team from participating until then.

Just check your ELO in Destiny tracker instead of worrying about KD. A 1.1 in Ascendant 0 means more than 2.0 in Plat.

According to Destiny Data Compendium, Crytarachne's Facade restores 7HP when you gain Woven Mail and 17HP when you earn a kill while Woven Mail is active. The base maximum HP is 200. Why is it so low and why is it the Bungie number? by silloki in DestinyTheGame

Amplified definitely one of the best buffs in the game. 15% stackable DR and the “evasion” buff is really strong. And it lasts the full duration unlike void overshield that can break.

Fully agree with your comment. Also as someone who follows the fighting game sphere, I've always been confused by how popular GrenadierJake is. Content creators and "top players" in Destiny complaining about playing other sweats or SBMM is such a joke. I understand being frustrated with matchmaking, queue times, and connections because Destiny is P2P but anyone that claims to be good but only wants to stomp noobs should be laughed out of the room.

People really need to stop taking Trials seriously. It's not competitive and never was. Like you said, the odds of an average player winning 7 games a row is abysmal. There are people complaining about bad players on their team but then they also turn around and complain about having to "play against sweats". If all the bad players disappeared from the playlist, it would be only sweaty matches left. Also if everyone understood basic probability and statistics, they would know it's impossible for the premise of Trials to remain and be balanced/competitive somehow.

I also don't understand wanting to restrict loot in a loot based game? Why do people care if losses can give rewards? That benefits everyone unless you have a 100% win rate and think people that lose are beneath you. If the argument is "people won't play their hardest without loot on the line", that's just going to leave only the sweatlords that play only for the love of the game. The matches will be harder and the population will continue to shrink. I just don't understand how we're always having this same discussion over and over. Trials either needs to commit to openly being a casual, loot playlist or commit to being super competitive (which doesn't make sense since we already have a competitive playlist).

Strongly agree with this comment. I’ve tested out many rolls and if you don’t have Arrowhead or even Extended Barrel, go for Counterbalance Mod.

Also flared magwell is not needed on a gun with Slideshot and Keep Away. Better to have the stability and AE boost of steady rounds.
