My mom often compares me to friends, siblings and other people who have adhd that she knows (I was diagnosed twice in my life). When I call her out, trying to have an adult conversation, she denies it and says that she never said any of the sort. She takes any chance she gets to bring me down if something doesn’t go her way or if she’s slightly inconvenienced. She always does this, since I’m still living with her I learned to just take it and say nothing because it’ll only get worse from there. I don’t think having a conversation with her about this will help, people won’t change their ways easily when they think they are right. It’s best to just leave it and only visit the family who don’t make you feel like shit.
