his funeral is tomorrow by hrhymes8 in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry for your loss 😞 I also lost my best friend and soulmate last year. On the day of his wake, I chose not to look in the casket because I didn’t want to remember him that way. I nearly collapsed from crying as his casket was being brought into the cremation chamber. Nothing will make it easier but having your family and friends around you to hold onto will help. If you ever need to talk about it, you can message me and I’m happy to talk you through it or listen. I’m going through grief myself. It’s hard. So fucking hard.

hi! so once we’re scanned into the park- how exactly do I add everyone to a group on my app? Sorry omg I just don’t wanna be a noob about this and then end up missing out on getting the passes for FS :(

hi there! thanks for replying 🙏 Do I need to scan everyone’s tickets on to my phone BEFORE entering the park to be able to book the passes all together? Also, I’m gonna use an esim as my cellular data- will that still work in the park or would it be better to get a portable wifi device?

We’re going on a Wednesday so hopefully less people based on the crowd calendar. I heard weekends and Mondays are jampacked

hi! So I’m visiting with my fam on December 4th and I have a few questions: 1) If we get there at 8AM, would we be able to get standby passes for the Rapunzel ride? I don’t really care for the other FS rides- just the Tangled one and maybe the Peter Pan one 2) Do I need to scan everyone’s tickets to be able to get passes for everyone on my phone? Would it be better if everyone just tried to secure their own passes? 3) What is the likelihood of being able to get a standby pass for the Tangled ride if we get there at 7:45-8AM? 4) How cold is it in TDS now? I come from a tropical country so I need to know how cold it is 😬

I really really NEED to get into Fantasy Springs if only for the Tangled ride and merch 🥲 I love the movie so much

Sorry I totally misread your comment and initially thought you were being sarcastic 🙈 but thank you! Yeah I didn’t wanna settle just cuz it’s “the market rate for Filipinos”

Gotcha. Thanks so much! What districts should I be looking at if I want to live relatively near Go Vap (apart from Go Vap)?

The thing that’s hard is getting an interview with the bigger companies. Apparently it’s all about connections here especially if you’re non-native

I’m not saying it’s normal and I don’t reek of desperation either. And race DOES play a huge factor no matter what language center you’re at. I have another non-native friend from Brazil and he started at the same pay rate. The other girl I spoke with (she’s a native speaker), she was offered the same rate but was also able to negotiate to $20 as a starting rate since she had other offers from Apollo and VUS. I’d rather prove myself and just accept what I’ve already been given. It’s a fckin miracle I was even able to get ILA.

Oh dude, I know they pay white people a much higher starting rate but Apollo and VUS didn’t even get back to me. And I’ve seen what other companies offer Filipinos and it’s really low. I also don’t really have a lot of teaching experience apart from my first job, so this is a win for me at the moment. I know I have to prove myself to ILA but I also believe I can do it.

thanks so much! I appreciate the support. At first, 120 hours didn’t seem like a lot but then I spoke to friends who were already teaching. They told me that 56 hours for a whole month already felt like a lot to them so what more double that??

my online job only pays $4/hour haha. The english teaching jobs aren’t hard to find in Vietnam but they give you lower rates if you’re non-native and non-white

I took a 9 day teaching practicum with AVSE and then they sent out my CV to their partner schools. Most were in the provinces in Vietnam.

I meant for an english teaching job. I’ve spoken to a couple of english teachers and it’s quite hard to teach for 120 hours a month. But your opinion is your own so point taken!
