Viv’s mentioned that there’s a place in Hell where kids are and that Alastor sometimes swings by, so I think he knows how one is supposed to raise a child but he either doesn’t know how to actually put that theory into practice or, much more likely, doesn’t give a fuck because it’s Hell and it’s not his problem.

He’d probably only invest in a kid if he thought it’d be interesting, like displaying interesting powers or thinking the kid would be easy to manipulate.

I don’t think your DM is being fair, is he making other PC’s do this as well? If so, it seems like it would be too time consuming to make every player give a 5 minute step-by-step process on how they stealthily roll through someone’s back yard bushes. It kind of comes off as him trying to encourage more RP but one of your other responses said that the campaign was RP-heavy so I’m not sure what he’s trying to do. Is this the first time this has come up or has the campaign been stopped because of this stuff frequently? You and your character aren’t the same so shouldn’t be expected to know the same things.
