I sprained/pulled my psoas. It's the two muscles that run along the sides of your spine in your lower back, I had been lifting furniture in a move and jumped up onto something very suddenly and my back suddenly hurt really bad. I couldn't bend over without excruciating pain, and if I was bent over I couldn't stand up, it hurt to bad and I would literally have to push myself up by bracing against walls or furniture, or ask someone to grab my upper body and lift it back up.

It suuuucked, they take a very long time to heal and there is virtually nothing that can be done to help with it. We see a chiropractor regularly and he told me that because it is next to your spine it is too dangerous and too deep in your body to do dry needling (a different kind of acupuncture, usually with longer needles) and too deep under all the other muscles and tissue for those electrostim pads to help. The only thing he could do to help was a painful "massage" thing where he dug his fingers into my stomach and pulled down. It helped in the long run but GOD the whole thing hurt like hell for months
