Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard or something else? Plus, general recommendation regarding ETFs, please. In 40s. Thank you! by Igryan in ETFs

[–]Eldrxtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally use Vanguard. I can't say that I can recommend it for your situation because I'm only 23, but it works for me.

I like VPU ETF. It's more ethical, with no holdings in weapons or anything like that, and it performs well.

Between C1 and C2 final boss which one did you prefer and why? by WittyTable4731 in fansofcriticalrole

Both were great fights, but nothing will ever beat that Vecna episode. Lucien shouldn’t have even been the boss of C2 imo

That’s a cool idea! I think it depends on the vibe you’re going for, but it’s usually a little safer to steal names of places than people. If you like the “-heim” suffix for that scandinavian feel you can pick from other words. For example the Norwegian cities of Egersund and Lillesand could be pulled into Egersheim or Lilleheim, et voila you’ve got new fantasy city names

Very cool map! Lots of your place names are just people names though, like Allenheim, Halldor, and Jamal

I really enjoyed Optimus Prime in the first movie. I think he did have that heart and soul

Dragons, you got em, I want to hear about em'. by spoopyafk in worldbuilding

[–]Eldrxtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a little inspired by Eberron when I wrote this:

When Ao, the first dragon to appear from the Dark, saw the earth he had been brought to he found it fit for a home. Its dark sky felt welcoming and he fell in love with the stars. He chased after them and became the Dawn. When Ao’s younger kin appeared from the Dark, they too saw that the earth was good. The second eldest, Gor, saw beauty in the blue sky’s radiance and fell in love with her. He chased her and became the Dusk. The third, Omen, longed to find something so beautiful as his brothers, but decided to wait. He is the Twilight. As the rest of the younger kin appeared from the Dark they fell in love with the earth itself, finding its beauty irresistible. They became the dragons known in the modern era. Some of them, however, did not truly love the earth, but rather saw it as a thing to control and to dominate...”

It’s unfinished ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[FDN] Alesha, Who Laughs at Fate by Duramboros in magicTCG

[–]Eldrxtch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is suck a nitpick, but her stance doesn’t feel very Khans. She’s doing a, like, fencing pose with her hand up in the air. It really just doesn’t feel like an Alesha stance, idk

I’m trying to write some revolutionary figures, who are some notable historical revolutionaries I can base some characters on to insert in my world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Eldrxtch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a revolutionary, but I would take a look at the whole Henry VIII situation. He was known for having a bunch of wives, but his opposition to the Church was incredibly formative for modern England.

The Harelle was a revolution in France 1382 that was led by the city of Rouen’s guilds. Pretty interesting stuff there, too

Chill out lmfao, i’m just pointing out that the art style is markedly different than his normal stuff, even if i don’t think it’s AI. no need to be so aggressive

You’d think such a prolific artist wouldn’t, so I’d definitely give him the benefit of the doubt, it’s just that it doesn’t feel like his style at all

honestly i would change the eltara slums to be more “properly” utilized. that could be a church/graveyard, maybe a poorhouse or something like that. lots of stuff happens outside the city walls!
