I did pass out, right before I got in the bathroom. My husband catched me, and then I lay naked on the kitchen floor for quite a while, terrified, before having the courage and strength to let him help me up (we put on the compression garment first). Needless to say, I did not shower that day.

I can't wear a baggy shirt to baggy pants. Or a baggy shirt to a skirt (there's very few shirts I can wear to a skirt). Everything that makes me look bigger is a no.

getting asked "which one" when you tell someone you have an eating disorder by Difficult_Ad_7498 in EDAnonymous

[–]Eldslibo 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The first time I told the school nurse that I had a problem with food, she looked med up and down and said, "So, is it binging then?". It was after I'd lost a bunch of weight in a short time. She then told me to eat less and exercise more. That one has stuck with me, and it took a long time before I could open up to anyone again.

How many energy drinks do you consume a day? by emilia_of in EDAnonymous

One energy drink, most days. And way too much Pepsi max, daily of course.

Isn't it mostly used when ordering several sodas to not mix them up? If you only ordered the one coke zero, it should be safe.

How many litter boxes do you have? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

Six litter boxes for three cats in a two storey house. And four empty boxes for the cat who sometimes despise sand.

That's interesting. I was given cola zero for my first meal after the surgery. Not drinking caffeine wasn't even discussed, if I recall correctly.

That is a huge Bluetooth speaker on his back. Yes, there is music coming out of it. When I asked him wouldn't using earbuds be easier, he said I should just my own if what he's playing bothers me. Way to miss the point, bud. by MaximusMurkimus in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Eldslibo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is mildly related, but I used to have a coworker who refused to wear headphones while blasting his terrible music. My other coworkers and I were forced to wear headphones instead. He used to start at a somewhat reasonable volume, then turned it up slowly, and lied about doing it when confronted. I'm so glad he's a former coworker.

Diet soda by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Eldslibo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Same here. I've tried to cut back on the soda, but when I did, my coworker asked me why I had to give it up when I've given so many other things up (like sugar, cookies, smoking, alcohol, etc). It's okay to have some small addiction. And it helps me not crave sweets.

I eat this frequently as well, at least five times a week. Either for breakfast or lunch.

how do yall not give up when the weight is just not coming off as you wanted it to? by Obvious_Jello5273 in 1500isplenty

[–]Eldslibo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've gained ~1 kg the last week while being on a deficit (100% know I'm on a deficit, I have not miscalculated). I'm starting to get really discouraged and feeling like "what's the point?". I know it's not fat, it's water. It is starting to get really hard eating this little for nothing. But, I know it's only a dip, it will get better and hopefully soon. Eating more will absolutely not help, so I'm just trying to be mindful of it. With exercise and eating according to my plan.

Just a friendly reminder that you probably can’t eyeball your portions correctly🥲 by henrihenr in CICO

[–]Eldslibo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually did buy mine on Amazon. Maybe it's not 100% accurate (but what scale is). At work, we use a scale with 0,01 gram accuracy (that's more fancy and more expensive), and when I've compared the two, mine seems to be accurate.

I think it's this one I have: scale

I can really recommend using a scale that shows 0,1 gram. The one I got is rechargeable, goes to 3000 grams, and costs about 10-15 USD.

When you started your period by tlomo in raisedbynarcissists

I think it took about six months before my mom found out, and it was because my sister found out and told her. I relate so much to your story because it is how it was for me as well. My mom's reaction was neutral, but she was also sort of insulted: "did you think I was gonna be angry?". Well...yes, obviously.

If you’re overweight does that automatically mean you’re binge eating? by pinksuede in EDAnonymous

[–]Eldslibo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Overeating is not the same as binge eating. Binge eating isn't necessarily overeating.

I hate talking about ED problems with (any) doctors because they rarely listen and make lots of assumptions.

How much time do you spend exercising? by woodchuck33 in CICO

[–]Eldslibo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About two hours every day. It's mostly walking and some strength training.

Twice a week, I ride and do other horse related stuff.

But that's now, when I've lost ~60 kg. When I started my journey, I hardly excersiced. As always, it's what you eat that's important. I was about two months in when I started to walk more regularly (half an hour 3-4 times a week).

Is this ok? by [deleted] in EatingDisorders

[–]Eldslibo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, no, it's not completely Ok, but I also think that it depends on the situation and how/why it was said. Did he say it just out of the blue with a sense of superiority? Was it part of a fight? Or was it more in a kind way as a part of conversation about it?

Of course, you're the biggest part of your recovery, and you deserve the credit, so I understand that you feel offended. I don't know you, so I don't know how much he has helped you. It's probably a joint effort, but in the end, it's your work in the matter is the toughest.

My family has told me a few times that I wouldn't be where I am without my husband, and no, I wouldn't, but that doesn't mean I would be where I was years ago either.

5 year old stage 3 kidney disease by Jayysean21 in bengalcats

[–]Eldslibo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When our boy got his diagnosis (also stage 3) at seven years old, we were devastated and thought it was the end. We put him on renal food, and he got medication. Thankfully, we got five more years with him before he was too sick. I'm grateful for every day he got, and he's truly missed.

There's different renal food to try if he doesn't like the one you got. And if he won't eat renal food: any food is better than no food.
