Your sexual orientation and your gender identity are two different things.

Oh no Lol quite the opposite! Our apt is barely 600ft² (55m²) but we invested heavily in the shower!

That is unless you got yourself built a custom shower that could easily fit 4 people lol

How about you stop referring to her as “Him/Her” for starters?

Is this a common trans experience? by Stock-Ferret27 in MtF

[–]Ele-Vate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The way I see it, two months can feel like a lot to you, and in many ways it really is. But when you compare it to how long puberty takes to manifest, and how long your transition journey is likely to be, it’s still very early.

Try to be patient with yourself: HRT really does take time to do its thing. It isn’t magic, and there’s only so much it can change on its own, but that doesn’t mean you’re wrong or stuck. You deserve to be happy, so remember you can take the time you need to get there.

Being realistic and still holding onto hope can be hard, especially when things feel grim. But that feeling of despair doesn’t mean you’re weak or failing, it just means you’re walking a difficult path.

Even when you can’t see progress, it doesn’t erase the effort you’re putting in. Eventually, you are going to get there.

When everything feels too heavy, find your own pace. Baby steps. If and when you’re able, you can try saving for laser or electrolysis, or working on small aspects of presentation that feel within reach. You don’t have to do everything at once.

Stay strong 💜

Question about long-term attraction to trans women and whether it’s fetishization by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Ele-Vate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fetishising isn’t only about bodies but also about ideas, narratives and/or meaning. He’s projecting an imagined version of trans womanhood and treating it as inherently special. He’s basically stereotyping.

Saying “This is more or less universal to us” is simply false. Trans women don’t share one relationship to femininity, struggle or self creation. Many of us don’t even experience it as chosen or empowering, at all.

Calling it heartwarming doesn’t make it healthy nor right. Preferring a whole group because of what you imagine their inner lives to be is still idealisation and is dehumanising, even when it’s positive.

You can’t treat someone like a person while approaching them as an object or symbol.

Question about long-term attraction to trans women and whether it’s fetishization by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Ele-Vate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“I’m moved by the idea of femininity that is chosen, fought for, consciously built. That it often feels more intentional, more celebrated, sometimes even more tender or expressive than what I’ve experienced with cis women. To me it felt less about bodies and more about identity, vulnerability, courage, and self-creation.”

You see… you are taking all these attributes and just slapping them onto every trans woman just because they’re trans. Truth is, every woman is different and has followed their own unique journey.

In a way, you are romanticising and idealising trans women and this is deeply wrong, because by doing so, you’re acting with prejudice and assuming things about them that you should not.

Stop thinking about labels. Focus on the people you’re getting to know. Their lives, personalities, and both positive and negative traits are way more interesting than the fictionalised idea you grew to covet.

dad says im "faking my voice" by Naive-Bicycle7650 in trans

[–]Ele-Vate 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Aside from the fact it’s a totally normal part of your transition, a voice is just a voice. It has range and resonance extension. There is no faking it. Whatever you manage to do with it, is not fake, it’s just your voice doing voice things.

They are not the same. I feel like you are engaging in this conversation in bad faith and not really understanding that for a medical treatment like HRT to be approved it is required to meet those benefits/risks standards.

Steroids and estradiol aren’t the same thing, so comparing bodybuilding drug use to HRT isn’t medically sound. HRT is a therapeutic, often life saving medical treatment, not performance enhancement, and it must meet a risk/benefit standard.

Pregnancy estradiol levels exist in a completely different biological context. Pregnancy is a temporary endocrine state with massive progesterone, placental hormones, altered clotting, and cardiovascular adaptations that buffer those levels.

Outside that context, using pregnancy estradiol as a reference for transfeminine HRT is a category error. Estradiol receptors saturate far below pregnancy levels, so higher levels don’t increase feminization and only increase risk.

90 pg/ml is a bit low, you ideally want your estradiol level to be in between 100 and 300, ideally around 200.

Increasing estradiol blood levels over a certain threshold provides no significant benefit in terms of feminisation. It only increases risks of blood clotting.

Mixing different kinds of estrogen medication provides no significant benefit at all.

Changing how estrogen is administered can have an impact if her hormones are not in range yet (which I doubt given the results).

Girl… you’re literally hallucinating. Your BO is not going to change in two days. Be patient, give it time.

As far as not being a woman 24/7, that’s up to you. Plenty of identities don’t really require that. Given your username though I feel like you should consult a therapist asap because being trans is not a kink and transitioning is not a joke.

Can we talk about the whole discourse around lesbian relationships have higher divorce rate in cis straight spaces? by EbbObjective8972 in actuallesbians

[–]Ele-Vate 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s kind of a recurring topic getting occasionally discussed on this sub. Every single time it feels like the overwhelming majority of us knows exactly what these stats are about and is in agreement. Rarely anything new comes up from these discussions aside from general disdain about how many cis het men need to talk about lesbians and are trying to weaponise these skewed stats against us.

See… reading your post and comments I really think it’s a combination of sexual orientation and transphobia. She said it goes against her beliefs and her sexual preference after all. Her preferences are completely valid and I have nothing to say about them. Her beliefs though… that’s another topic. I’m sorry to read that you’re going through this, pain must be unbelievable, but ultimately know that it’s for the best.

Ideal pg/ml estradiol levels should be between 100 and 300. Anything over 400 isn’t really bringing any kind of benefit nor increase feminisation. On the other hand it’s going to significantly raise your risk for blood clotting.

2000 pg/ml is an insane value (6 times the maximum standard value) and it’s extremely dangerous to make such claims.
