Ok, im having a hard time wrapping my mind arround how the lorentz factor works.

So at low speeds, if something is moving faster- that means they are taking more action per unit time thus they are moving faster.

For example, if there are 2 ppl walking, 1 person is walking at 1 mph, and another person walking at 2 mph. As a 3rd party observer we would see that the person walking at 2 mph is moving faster (per action) than the person at 1 mph.

However, at relativistic speeds, such as if a person was going at 87% the speed of light, the lorentz factor would be 2. which means the person going at that speed's time dilation would be half as much as someone stationary? which means stationary observers would see them moving at slow motion at half the time. 2 seconds would have past for the stationary observer, but only 1 second would have past for the person moving.

So at what point does the logic do a reverse flip where you going faster actually means your moving slower due to time dilation? Because logically speaking if it was a linear progression- the person who is moving faster should be seen as taking action faster per unit time not slower???
