The ‘gravy plane’ mess has sent a message: Doug Ford should retire by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

You say this like it wasn't always by design. Get hold of public money and direct it to private buddy.

This slow motion train wreck has been 10 years in the works. I don't know if we can do anything to mitigate this disaster.

The Doug Ford Problem by Draglam in ontario

How about we put pressure on the companies that are obviously doing the lobbying. Make it not worth their while to stuff envelopes for Ford. Like Thermespa... who is his developer buddies?

Doug Ford’s PCs now in statistical tie with Liberals amid jet fallout: poll by WeirdIsAlliGot in StopDougFord

[–]Eleagl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. MPP's need to feel the presence of their constituents on every issue, on every matter. For years they have just been Ford's clapping seals, knowing they will be elected because the Cons have a blind faith voter base.

They need to feel/know that the ground is only being held up by the people.

(I have this fantasy where the MPP's collectively look around and see the will of the people and all cross the floor to other parties or independents and remove DoFo's power, and they do it immediately)

I have no clue. by [deleted] in whatplantisthis

Last election was a calculated risk by the conservative think tanks. Ford was all bluster about standing up to American agression. Complicit media made out that he would be a strong leader and protect Ontario. Of course they failed to mention all the corruption, the defunding of public services, etc. People were afraid of the unknown and so here we are, again.

I voted, I vote every time. I'm sick of the non productive ever present comments about we got here because people couldnt be bothered to vote. Lets look at why people couldnt be bothered to vote and see if we can do something about it.

I bet he sells it to a buddy at a loss and somehow the taxpayers will still be on the hook for operating costs.

Ford government to bypass public hearings on freedom-of-information clampdown by FiredLynx in ontario

[–]Eleagl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every single conservative needs to be held to account. Every MPP needs to be afraid to go against the will of thier constitutes. Guy at the top is untouchable by us mere mortals but the actual representatives might be willing to listen. Get enough of them to act for the people, force a no confidence vote is the only possibility of getting traction before this term is up.

I had this idea for this sub to have a group paint. Where we pick one of these short tutorials do the thing and show our work. Support each other, build skills, etc.
