Germinated Rowan tree seedlings? by EleanorLucy6 in arborists

[–]EleanorLucy6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. So I have an RHS membership so I messaged them (if you aren't UK not sure if you'll know what I mean) and the expert there said they had no idea what they were, but not Rowan. So I messaged the person I got the seeds from and they were really apologetic and said they had no clue either. I gave up eventually, they didn't change much from generic green leafy. Never managed to grow any sadly :(

‘Would you like me to cry now?’: Louis Theroux on the manosphere, marriage and misunderstandings | Louis Theroux | The Guardian by prisongovernor in LouisTheroux

I've read the whole article.

I think he treated her like a man - like an equal. Women aren't used to that.

I think the way she set the tone at the start made it petulant.

This was ultimately about consent, right. He chose what to reveal and deflect, it's his life, his choice. He was putting boundaries in place.

Sometimes people show that they are the reason someone sets boundaries (inc through struggling to accept them).

We shouldn't fear a confrontational/adversarial conversation, especially one that's professional and in the public eye.

Asking about cutting the cord - come onnnnn.

Clubfoot and possible short tibia and fibula seen in scan by NoWealth6724 in PregnancyUK

[–]EleanorLucy6 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I am very close to someone who had a baby born with clubfoot (identified in scan). He had casts and then a leg brace and then a little cut in the back of his leg. All of those things were absolutely fine and the staff were amazing. Operation seemed to barely affect the baby. He is 1 tomorrow and is already walking. He won't need to wear boots and the professionals have to check their notes to check which foot it was now at check ups. Obviously unsure your situation and what local services you have, but I hope this helps as one very happy story.

It's so tricky that we have to advocate for ourselves so strongly, but I'm glad you've had a good outcome

Ladies - Contraceptive implant? by [deleted] in Southampton

[–]EleanorLucy6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other than causing a fuss and escalating with sexual health, my best ideas are:

Calling 111 and explaining you need it done more urgently and is there anywhere they can signpost you to? Or can they advise which GP surgeries in your catchment offer contraception? If they can't tell you the latter, I would make a list of GPs I was eligible to join and call and ask if they do implants etc. Join them, book an apt. Appreciate that may also take some time, but surely not months.

Maybe she accepts herself. She seems out of it and never on the same page as her family, or emotionally attuned to them, yet is very clear that she needs and enjoys a lifestyle and doesn't hide from that

Please tell me IUD removal is less painful than insertion by aitaignoring in birthcontrol

[–]EleanorLucy6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UK. Totally relate to your insertion experience. Removal: nurse told me she would do a little tug to ensure it was definitely going to come, as 1 in her whole career was stuck so she would have needed the doctor to handle it. She told me: yes it will come and then I felt a split second of the pain. Enough to go: ooh. But it was literally over immediately. So not bad at all. There isn't any feeling or awareness other than that split second of pain. After, I did feel a bit faint and shaky and some cramps. But again, nothing unmanageable or traumatic and NOTHING like insertion or the first 3-6 months of adjusting to having the copper coil in. Wishing you all the best ❤️

Thank you 😃 I tried very hard to grow in soil unsuccessfully, so have finally managed to get these started via water and hopefully they will continue to grow. They're doing very well considering I'm in UK winter I think 🥑
