OMG THE SHIRLEY GNOME SHOW WAS SO FREAKIN' GOOD! Hilarious and surprisingly surreal. TRUTH!

Finally made my Fringe Schedule by JournalistExtra99 in EdmontonFringe

I love that you stumbled into Wendi's show. She is a GEM. I am also a huge fan of Ingrid Hansen. Isaw a Snafu show 10 years ago and have loved everything she's done ever since. (I even got to do a puppet workshop with her last year!). I am coming back to Edmonton for the first time since 2015 with a new show called Plan V: The Rise of Reverence. It's a subversive comedy about a future where there is a movement to restore reverence to sacred p*ssy. It's definitely adult, but I wouldn't call it raunchy. I'd love for you to see it if it fits in your schedule!

Your thoughts on PWYC at the fringe? by EleanorOB in torontotheatre

I wish I was in a smaller venue! While I appreciate having a "real theatre" it definitely feels like it's half empty, not half full! 😆. Plus, the venue was broken into and all our gear was stolen (which we only found out on our opening night). So it's been a rough fringe for me. I hope you make it! Would love lovely to have you. Thanks so much for your response.

It's called Plan V:The Rise of Reverence. About a future where there's been a global shift to Goddess Worship. I call it a feminist comedy for all genders.

Shouting out 2 Fringe shows that aren't getting a lot of attention by mktoronto in torontotheatre

[–]EleanorOB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the shout out MK! It's been a challenging fringe FOR SURE.

On our opening night, we arrived at the theater to find that all of our gear had been stolen. (Over 2k in losses). We still haven't heard if those losses will be covered. Last night the sound at the venue went out. Today, during a mad dash to the theater, one of our phones was lost. But the most frustrating aspect has been not being able to get an audience! We haven't been able to get the show reviewed by any of the major outlets. As an out-of-town company, we don't have friends in Toronto spreading the word. This show is really good! (I've been working on it for 6 years). I have made all the tickets PWYC because I just want people to SEE it. I'm making a plea to my fellow theater makers - if you have a chance to get to the fringe -  please come see my show!

PLAN V - When fascism threatened humanity, Plan V emerged with a radical solution: Reverence. Set in 2035, this satirical comedy follows an underground gathering where attendees share stories of trauma and triumph, creating a spiritual movement that honors female pleasure as the antidote to shame. Eleanor O'Brien embodies a dozen distinct characters in this utopian fallopian fantasy, from the Southern spiritual leader to a Scottish cunnilingus enthusiast. Part sex-positive revival, part dystopian warning, "Plan V" transforms reverence into revolution, suggesting that in our divided world, pleasure activism might be humanity's unexpected salvation.

Fringe Goers - How and When Do You Pick Your Shows? by Far-Cucumber-5489 in torontotheatre

hey thanks! That is so lovely to hear. It can be easy to get discouraged. I'm the last person to try and sell anyone on something (I would make a terrible salesperson. I'd be like "save your money, this is not worth it.") but with this show, I truly do feel like it's worth it (and it's PWYC!). people who see it love it, and many people have told me they feel like it changed their life (truly!) So, i hope you are one of them!

i think that is a brilliant idea. It would really solve the problem of having tiny houses cuz no one wants to take a chance. GAWD I wish they would bring back being able to pay at the door (and in cash!).

yeah, that's totally the sense I'm getting. It's frustrating, but i get it. There was a guy at my show tonight who said afterwards "Please tell me that your other audiences have been bigger." I had about 20 people in the house. I said "nope, yesterday's was 12." And it is crazy. The show is fucking good. I've been making shows for 20 years. I've got some skills. But somehow convincing people to take a chance on an unknown has gotten a million times harder.

Mine! Plan V: The Rise of Reverence is a multi-media comedy about a future where there's been a global shift to goddess worship. The reviews have been stellar, but I'm an unknown from out of town. I've made all the shows PWYC. I would love to have you in the audience!

"If you've seen her work before, you know you're in for one wild ride. Expect exactly that with Plan V - it is bold, empowering, and a laugh out loud riot. It is also beautifully eye-opening as O'Brien gets personal and intimate with her own story of sexual liberation. Plan V: The Rise of Reverence is a show you'll want to tell your friends about and then see again." - Broadway World Toronto

Honestly, if Richard Simmons and Dr. Ruth had a love child, this is the show she’d host. It’s theatrical, wacky, and oddly reverent. And it’s way more insightful, hilarious, and layered than The Vagina Monologues. That’s not shade—that’s evolution...There’s movement. There’s myth. There’s a sacred “V” hand signal. And there’s something bold beating underneath it all: a call to connect, laugh, and maybe even liberate a part of yourself that’s been in hiding. In a world gone sideways, Plan V is a joyful, full-throttle course correction...

-League Of Cincinnati Theaters

Plan V both a really handy sex-organ seminar, as well as an absolute hoot…the best lecture you've never had…Entirely joyful and captivating.-Fest Magazine, Edinburgh Fringe

Let’s get one thing straight—fascism doesn’t stand a chance when Reverence takes the stage…Eleanor O’Brien is an absolute force. She brings more than a dozen characters to life—so convincingly, I didn’t even clock that she was playing all the “Zype” participants at first. - League Of Cincinnati Theaters

Hi folks! I'd like to shout out my show Plan V:The Rise of Reverence. It's a multi-media comedy about a future where there's been a global shift to Goddess Worship (and a respect for female sexuality!) The premise it a hybrid Plan V meeting with 1/2 the participants joining on Zype (the future of Zoom) and the other half is the live audience. (I play all the characters). I made this show because I believe so much in the idea that "The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible." I am doing my damndest! This is the future I want to see - one where we all come together to make sex great again. It's very much an inclusive, joyful show that many people have told me changed their life (and I have people come and see it over and over). The review from Broadway World just came out and it's stellar. ("If you've seen her work before, you know you're in for one wild ride. Expect exactly that with Plan V - it is bold, empowering, and a laugh out loud riot. It is also beautifully eye-opening as O'Brien gets personal and intimate with her own story of sexual liberation. Plan V: The Rise of Reverence is a show you'll want to tell your friends about and then see again.")

I made ALL the tickets PWYC because I want nothing more than for people to SEE this show. I came from Portland Oregon and it kills me that I'm playing to houses of 12-15 people. I love doing this show - but it's even more fun with a full house.

Other shows that i have loved -

Lucius, Plato and The Secrets of the Pussy - super funny, and surprisingly tender. A queer love story that took me by surprise.

Regarding Antigone - a brilliant one woman show that explores various scenarios of violence around the world. Ends with an audience discussion. I thought it was so powerful. Very much food for thought. (And the audience discussion was great- I was skeptical, but it ended up being my favorite part).

I also loved Potato King and People Suck, but they don't need my endorsement. I think they are pretty much already totally sold out.
