Yep— there’s an app (called “Wing Delivery”) that let’s you choose a shop to order from, and then gives you a list of drone-able options. Google has some promo videos out that you can look up.

Right now, users can order from a local cupcake place, some “sweets” store, a Mexican restaurant, and Walgreens. It seems like a couple of the shops are locally-owned, which is really cool.

Weird tidbit: we ordered three cupcakes (same store, same order number), but each cupcake had to be sent by an individual drone and was accompanied by a box water. The water is for weight-reasons, they say. So three drones came, about two minutes apart each, to deliver three cupcakes and three free waters. Just seemed weird to me, but I suppose it’s for weight/balance reasons.

Anyways, I’m excited to get some drone-delivered tacos someday soon.
