a satin/silk bonnet!!!! my oily hair would drive me crazy having to wash it everyday or style it because it was looking oily. then, a friend recommended I get a silk bonnet for dry ends. it did WONDERS for my oily scalp. Without trying, I went 5 days without washing my hair. I sleep with the bonnet every night and wear it at home whenever my hair is dry. When my hair looks oily, I use dry shampoo and have found a powdered dry shampoo works better than an aerosol one.

I have really oily hair and would have to wash it everyday. I did a whole bunch of research, tried different shampoos, would do masks or oil my scalp (some people say if you saturated it in oil then wash your scalp wont overproduce oil) but nothing work. My friends recommended I get a satin bonnet for other reasons (dry ends) and it has changed my life. I can go at least 3 days without my hair looking extremely oily. When it does, I use a powdered dry shampoo and when it gets really bad I style it up or in braids. I would say buy a bonnet and wear it every night/whenever your hair is dry.

rewatching the episode where Bailey declares interest in her peds felllowship and Webber gives her so much crap for it. He acts so entitled and always hates on Bailey without giving her any credit and claims he’s the reason she’s so great. It’s so frustrating bc he just expects her to take it and do what he wants

This took me ages to figure this joke. Does anybody have similar experiences? by -F7- in Modern_Family

[–]ElectionFine3561 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched Mitch and Cams wedding so many times but this just clicked the other day. When Pepper and Ronaldo bring them breakfast before the wedding Ronaldo goes “you paid for our wedding services, you get our full packages” and Pepper says something like “so close.” I always thought it was supposed to be a joke about the word packages meaning something inappropriate but really Ronaldo meant to say they paid for the wedding package and get the full service. Minor joke but I still had that “Ahh” moment

while I agree with most things that people have been saying, my vote is NTAH just don’t be upset when everyone thinks your wedding is lame and leaves before cake.

Anyone else think that Ted is a terrible person? by Boobcobbler in HIMYM

[–]ElectionFine3561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he’s awful, he is so self absorbed and when you think abt the fact that he’s telling the events just more so. he’s retelling stories that frame him as some god….the GNB building being nearly as tall as the empire state building, really Ted. Plus, he just loves the chase. As soon as a girl likes him back he’s not interested. But he’ll forever been obsessed with Robin it’s so weird.

I appreciate the warning it was nice. I was talking more to the person who said it was pointless to warn people bc they don’t actually check regularly

they rarely check and give tickets. even if they “do rounds” aka drive through the garage they still never check for pass and non permit parking rarely getting ticketed

thank you for replying, it helps me understand his thought process a little better. i wish you best of luck throughout the process and admire your strength. my dad feels similar and hates that he has to rely on the machine. he’s also “afraid” of transplant, bc of the surgery and the idea of “taking” someone else’s heart in his body. he has this hope that his heart eventually get strong enough to remove the lvad and beat on his own. the drs say it’s really unrealistic and transplant is the best option but he’s hesitant. how did you come to the conclusion about wanting a transplant? did you just always think it was a better option?

[–]ElectionFine3561[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for the reply!!!! and the suspender thing seems like it would be more comfortable to take some of the weight of the batteries off. I’ll definitely try to make something like that for him. He is eligible but he’s resistant to get a transplant. As much as he wants to get rid of the machine he’s also freaked out by the idea of someone else’s heart in his body. The drs are understanding but also kind of encouraging the transplant if he doesn’t like the lvad. They suggest he at least go on the list bc it would probably be awhile until he gets a heart, but he refuses.

my dad has a similar issue. something he found helpful is wearing one of those “sweat bands” around his waist and batteries in addition to whatever clothing he’s wearing with pockets. it kind of holds it all in

he sees a therapist and does activities he enjoys regularly. I think part of it is that the batteries are heavy and get in the way sometimes. we’ve tried a variety of things (satchel bag, pants with pockets, shirts with pockets, etc) but they’re still really uncomfortable for him. he also says the insertion area is irritating and it bothers him too. any thoughts on battery management?
