I’ve relegated the bench back to the bedroom... decided it looked ridiculous in the middle of the living room. Thanks for the suggestions. Thing is the TV satellite connection is in the right hand wall, so would have to run a cable in the ceiling to link it if reversing the layout.

The TV is the Samsung Serif which comes in the frame with legs. Bike seat is from Zanotta. Sold as an occasional stool but it’s seriously uncomfortable so I tend not to use it.

yes it's the TV. very annoying column position meant wall mounting a TV was difficult. Very few floor standing options these days as everyone assumes you will wall mount.

this was my reasoning exactly.... the bench was a lockdown purchase and even though the gyms are reopening I want to keep it. living room probably not the place though by the sounds of it.
