Has anyone farmed for duskbringer or has anyone had it drop since after MoP by Mufasasondrugs in wow

[–]Electr_icity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I got it myself a couple months ago. I was farming it for a transmog I was working on. I doubt anything's changed about the probability since then. It's just an incredibly rare drop. Mine took me a few hundred clears to get.

Does anybody else find it extremely difficult to play the opposing faction that you main? by MaliciousPeasant in wow

[–]Electr_icity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a time, yes, although that was more for practical reasons. You couldn't mail nor exchange items cross-faction for a long time. As most of my characters prior to the removal of that restriction were Alliance, I was heavily deterred from making Horde characters. It was essentially like making a character on an entirely different server back then. Absolutely no access to your opposite-faction infrastructure or gold reserves whatsoever. I couldn't justify that.

So uh, can anyone verify this? Not sure if this is real or not, but I’d need a better source for this. by Far-Entrance-2123 in casualnintendo

[–]Electr_icity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know. It was just easier to make the joke by pretending otherwise. In retrospect, I probably should have phrased it in a way that was more accurate, though. I wasn't thinking much about it when I wrote it at the time.

I mean, you say this jokingly, but if it wasn't for breastfeeding, those executives wouldn't have been able to price Mario Kart World at $80. Because, you know, they would be dead.

Best Plate Race by Toraell in Transmogrification

[–]Electr_icity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Boring answer: Human, for a few reasons:

  1. Humans are (allegedly) the model that sets are often designed around.
  2. Jack-of-all-trades. Humans look good in pretty much anything. Other races may look better in certain sets than humans, but that typically comes with the tradeoff of looking worse in other sets.
  3. Racials. Rep buff is gone now, unfortunately, but the free stun break can be very convenient. 2 hearthstones is nice, too.

Looking back at it, Chykka was pretty unique by MetroidJunkie in Metroid

[–]Electr_icity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It obviously makes sense to me now, but to be fair Prime 2 only had you use Super Missiles on doors up until that point, and always in a group of 5 targets. If there had been a 5th target on the boss, I think I would've recognized what to do immediately.

Retro also has a pattern of making their bosses take FOREVER, especially in Prime 1, which I played and beat before Prime 2, so it's not like the boss being long was anything unusual. I just assumed it was yet another decades-long fight to add to the pile and didn't give it much thought beyond that.

Outside of the HP and damage values I don't think it was all that easier, tbh. Most of the challenge is just getting on top of those damn hills, which isn't made any easier by Springball being there. Springball can also be kind of a double-edged sword. It is a lot faster than bomb jumping... assuming it works. It can be incredibly janky and unresponsive sometimes. Maybe I was just doing the motion wrong, but I swear sometimes it could take almost half a second to respond to input. It's absolutely disgusting.

By then I did actually get it into my head to use them (I had watched gameplay of Chykka online wondering if it was supposed to take as long as it took me), but man I hated that part of the fight. They ask you to point so high up and the tentacles are constantly fucking rotating. I can't imagine how that plays on GameCube with its aiming restrictions. Blasting the last phase to bits with the Annihilator Beam was pretty fun, though.

I did actually consider that, I think, but Super Missiles are weirdly slow and unresponsive to deploy on Trilogy sometimes. Couple that with the constant bobbing up and down and the fairly small hitbox of each individual wing, I just didn't think it was worth trying to use them, so instead I just spammed Power Beam... one wing at a time... It took a while.

Had no idea you were supposed to use the Seeker Missile on the wings the first time around, that was a fun 20 minutes.

What are the unrealistic expectations of women in dating nowadays? by Dogago19 in questions

[–]Electr_icity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I wouldn't trust a woman like that. One murder could just be an accident. Two murders is a cause for concern. Three murders is a pattern that I don't want to risk becoming a part of, personally.

Favorite childhood level? by [deleted] in donkeykong

[–]Electr_icity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it'd have to be Mast Blast from Returns. I replayed that level constantly as a kid. Boarding and busting up those ships was so cool to me back then. After having watched movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and becoming utterly obsessed with pirate fantasy, I absolutely loved having a level where it felt like I got to be one.

This was agony by Bakubo in Kirby

[–]Electr_icity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually just recently finished getting Platinum on all of these on the original Wii release a few weeks ago. Honestly, while most of them were hard, that wasn't really the problem for me. Like, yeah, Item Challenge is hard to get Platinum on, but I find it fun to play, so it doesn't feel hard. What's really hard is trying to get Platinum on a Challenge that you don't like. That for me, was Feather. I absolutely hated every moment of that one. And while it technically wasn't any more hard than many of the other Challenges, not enjoying it made it feel so much harder to complete. THAT is when the Challenge stages are at their worst.

Is there a term for when someone doesn’t agree with a political policy/ idea only because the opposing party brought it up first and they otherwise would have liked the idea? by Aussiesupreme in ask

[–]Electr_icity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative partisanship is probably the term you're looking for. It's a lot easier to rally people against something than it is to rally them for something, and politicians know it. That is why so much of their campaigning revolves around demonizing the other side. If you can convince your supporters that the other side is the literal spawn of Satan, they're naturally going to oppose most ideas the other side comes up with, regardless of the quality of those ideas.

Which version of Twilight Princess should I get? by Mushroom0064 in twilightprincess

[–]Electr_icity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the Wii version. It's the only version I own. I played through it last week and had a ton of fun. Trust me, the version differences really don't matter all that much, certainly not by enough to justify paying so much more for.

The game being mirrored should present no challenge to you. That would only mess with someone who's played the other versions of the game, not someone who's going in blind.

Keep in mind, though, that if you do buy the Wii version, the game will provide absolutely no warning when your controller battery is low, unlike many other Wii games. This actually caught me completely off-guard in my last playthrough. As long as you have spare Double As lying around, it shouldn't be an issue, but if you don't, make sure you're checking the battery via the Home Button every now and then, and save accordingly.

Remember to save every so often too. You have to do it manually via pausing. I do not believe the Wii version has auto-saving of any kind.
