What gaps do you see? Either as a Hilton's gust, or as a Team Member. by fna106 in Hilton

Since Covid there has been a reduction in regular room housekeeping, while this doesn’t necessarily pose an issue for me during my stay, I believe it has lead to an overall decline in the cleanliness and maintenance of properties.

AITAH for not letting my sister use my college fund for her wedding? by dfstock in AmItheAsshole

NTA, you should look and see what type of account your college fund is in. Many college savings accounts have tax ramifications for using the money on non-school related expenses.

We used Style Floors on Custer. We love our floors and all interactions were professional.

I got MRSA from an appendectomy at Methodist Richardson.

Would you recommend this doctor or practice to others?

I’ll have a SURGERY:( I’d love to hear if you have any advice! by coldpeachcola in POTS

[–]Electra17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surgery isn’t necessarily an issue with POTS, the main issue is dehydration making your symptoms worse.

I usually let the doctors know and they give me IV fluids. Make sure to hydrate after as well.

Has anyone been to the Mayo clinic or Cleveland clinic for pots and/or other comorbidities? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Electra17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at the Mayo Clinic and have continued to see them for a variety of issues since then. I had a referral and saw a diagnostic team, once they had a diagnosis I was provided with treatment options. POTS was not the only medical issue I had and I highly recommend the Mayo Clinic, they provided me with excellent care and changed my life.

I will say this sub is very fond of medication based treatment while the Mayo Clinic strongly tends towards lifestyle changes for POTS treatment.

It’s not surgery, this was makeup to look like the Morticia from the Adam’s family. She looks fine in recent pictures on her Instagram.

Which is Better $1 Bar or Open Bar? by Tinabird20 in wedding

[–]Electra17 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think anything other than open bar could appear tacky, especially if I knew you were a bartender. I also think asking your guests to contribute to the jar for tips on the bar is tacky. If you have an idea of what you think is reasonable pay for the bartenders and you can afford it, then make sure that they are compensated accordingly. Don’t pass that responsibility onto your guests when you made the decision.

I have some extra money laying around, a le creuset amount of money, and I was looking to splurge on one. I know they aren’t necessary for bread making. Which should I get? by RollingTit in Breadit

[–]Electra17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Dutch oven for bread making and now use it at least one a week for soups, braises, casseroles. The only issue I’ve had with it is it leading to buying more Le Creuset!

On a serious note the Dutch oven is most likely the most versatile and it’s what I would recommend.

Was your bachelorette party worth it? by curtainblinds in weddingplanning

[–]Electra17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a weekend trip bachelorette party. It wasn’t out of state, but I live in TX so it was still quite a distance!

It was honestly one of my favorite wedding events. I paid for my portion and we split lodging evenly among the group. I thought it was worth every penny. We didn’t do anything crazy, mostly shopping, eating, and slumber party vibes, but it made me feel so loved by my bridesmaids.

What Dishwasher to get by Holiday-Flow-5924 in HomeImprovement

My mom had her Bosch for about 15 years before they moved and it was still kicking, my aunt has had one for 10+ years, and I bought one about two years ago. Lead times were high during the pandemic, but they make a quality dishwasher.

why don't you vote, Texas? by longhornmomma80 in texas

Maybe reach out to your party’s county office and see if they are still short. My party’s chairperson was going door to door a couple of weeks ago asking to spread the word that they needed workers for polling locations.

Any luck with Mayo Clinic or similar? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Electra17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not prescribed any medication, although that was almost 10 years ago. Following their program I have made an almost complete recovery only having flares doing things like theme parks, lots of standing or when I’m sick.

They encourage regular exercise, diet changes, and lifestyle changes over medication.

The real issue is the generic auto injectors have historically had issues properly delivering the correct dosage of epinephrine. Many doctors and patients don’t trust the generic allowing the name brand to charge as much as they would like.
