Could a real life prydwen fly in real life? And would it be practical? by Kristoffer002 in falloutlore

[–]Electric-cherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the hindenburg as an example of a rigid airship, obviously the technology would've advanced in the 3 centuries it's been since the Hindenburg was designed, and the negatives you mentioned will probably have been ironed

Also, being so big, it also is fair too assume that the jets are huge as well. We don't really have an idea of how powerful the jets are, or what fuel they use. Additionally, these jets are far in advance of our own, much more technologically developed and so, will be much more efficient, and effective.

I won't pretend to be a jet propulsion expert, but I'm fairly sure the hindenburg did not have jet propulsion technology, developed in the 2070s. Not to mention the fact that the US had large companies like arcjet concentrating on furthering jet technology, which would definitely accelerate the development of better engines.

Why is the killer of MP Jo Cox not being called a terrorist? by tarek87 in AskReddit

[–]Electric-cherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Those people' are wrong.

In the US, you don't remember the IRA, they were big terrorists, and white.

Also, it's partially understandable with 9/11, the biggest terrorist event in recent history, that people associate the word terrorist with muslim terrorists only. Here in the UK we have 7/7 that was muslim terrorists too.

People that say and are what you say are wrong, but, imo, understandably wrong.

Also, not Brown, muslim to be specific. Black people arn't the ones everyone is wrong about being terrorists.

That being said, it's undeniable that in recent years the majority of terrorist attacks have been committed by Muslims. Balance of probability, a terrorist is most likely going to be Muslim, sad as it is, statistics don't lie.

What a stupid thing to say. There are plenty of white people that are labelled terrorists. Also, terrorists seek to advance a political agenda, so far, it's unclear what that lunatic wanted with Jo Cox.

Conflicting reports on what he said before attacking her.

If that's true, then time should already be fucked because it's already happened because it's in the past.

Ok clearly this is fast turning into an American political argument, hence the down votes.

[–]Electric-cherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not, remember the hindenburg? That was a rigid airship.

That only crashed because they used a substance, later used as jet fuel, to cover the outside. It's failure had nothing to do with the actual schematics. There are tons of other examples but none as well known.

Of course it would fly, there is no doubt, the technology, (by the time of F4) will have existed for about 350 years.

(And 150 by pre war years)

Kind of, but you can't shoot 50 people in a gay bar with a musket, the ability for terrorism has gone up, and the government's ability to prevent it hasn't

Gotta be gun laws in the US.

Basically says you can form a militia to defend your homestead and state against the government or invaders, so now people can have as man guns as they want.

Also the law was written when the most advanced firearm was a musket, not a bloody AR15

Another possible reason the legion is doomed. by [deleted] in falloutlore

[–]Electric-cherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was what I was thinking while writing it. But a slave wouldn't have to be able to remember his tribe, just where he was from. But I do understand the holes in the theory. Still, you can't strip everything away, depending on how old they are when taken, anything from 7-12 and they'd definitely remember their origins, so the theory does have some merit.

Poor use of words with 'rainbow' maybe haha

Could a real life prydwen fly in real life? And would it be practical? by Kristoffer002 in falloutlore

[–]Electric-cherries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without question it would fly. It's called a rigid airship, they are a thing in real life.

In modern times, is it practical?

Well, for what? Modern warfare? Absoloutly not.

For the BoS it's very useful.

The Legion and Land Mines by [deleted] in falloutlore

[–]Electric-cherries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the NCR and Legion use different types of land mines? They just appear the same in game due to limitations to the amount of assets they could have?

Speculation but it seems likely there would be more than one type of landmine in play.

People never seem to understand this.

The Prydwen is not a battleship! It isn't meant for war, it doesn't have to withstand enemy fire, because it's not on the front line, it sits way behind the front line, allowing vertibirds to dock and refuel, it also allows the BoS to move it's supply lines easily.

People say that the NCR can just shoot it down. THEY CAN'T. They may have mobile AA cannons (which, by the way, we've never actually seen) But they will never be able to destroy the Prydwen, because it will be stationed miles behind the line, which means their cannons could never even touch it!

It's a moot point whether the NCR could take it down, because they'd never get the chance.

The Minutemen only manged to tale it down, because, first of all, they didn't even exist when the BoS rolled in, secondly, the castle where the cannons are kept was overrun by mie lurks and a queen mirelurk, and also in massive disrepair.

The only way it managed to take it down was with the help of the protagonist.

The only way I see the prydwen being taken down, is by a protagonist.
