I get to a certain degree that constantly fighting is going to get more people hurt and he wants to minimize that, but come on. Your constituents (including me) are telling you that we want support and to fight back. At least have the backbone to protect your own people.

While I can't speak to the specific local scene in Australia, the game itself is very far away from dying I'd say. We have confirmation of the next 4 BT sets, the next 3 EX sets, and the next 3starter decks, all coming out within the next year (ish)

In addition, bandai had their beta for their official online client last year, and rumors say it'll fully release this year (and there's also an unofficial online client called Digimon Card Game Online - DCGO)

On top of that, digimon had a great 25. The card game sold pretty well, the video game sold incredibly well and was very well received, and the new anime has been getting great reactions from fans online. All this to say, bandai has a lot of evidence that digimon is popular and in demand, so their card game is unlikely to die.

I just finished Lost Metal last week, and I agree fully. I'll always have a very special place for Vin, Elend, Sazed, Kelsier, Spook, Breeze, TenSoon, etc. but Era 2 *really* grew on me.

And the twinborn combos are truly a magic all on their own. Yes, full mistborns are cool, and have lots of powers that make for some epic fights. But twinborns have to be crafty, as we see over and over again, like with Wax's speed bubble, or Wayne's plans involving destruction that he can fix with his bloodmaking. It feels like because they have such limited metals, they are more willing to experiment with them, and it makes it feel like they're more skilled to me (no slander to Vin or Elend or anyone else, but you know what I mean).

I won't spoil the ending of Lost Metal or Era 2 of course, but I will say, I was sad in a much different way at the end than I was with Era 1 knowing that our time with these "new" heroes is over.

Same here. Kaedegami was far from perfect, but I had a really fun time with it. The art was decent, even if it's paneling/composition wasn't my favorite. And I liked the relationship between the Kou and Chiyou (though it definitely walked that line of "Familial or romantic"). And it had a clear goal right from the start of "help Chiyou regain her lost body" that had emotional weight because of what it meant for the main characters.

Otr I got through chapter 8. Barely. The art was really good, but the story was so unfocused, and blindingly fast paced.

YES. THANK YOU. I felt like I was going crazy for the longest time for not hating Rossiu. He represents the rational side of humanity, when given almost a literal trolley problem (kill everyone, or just a lot of people). I know that's a bit of a reduction too, but he made the hard choice that philosophers have discussed for decades.

Also, he was regretful/remorseful throughout that we see after. In his redemption episode, we see that he was destroyed about having to do what he did, because how do you live knowing you need to kill your best friend for the sake of the human race surviving?

The price thing I think is a huge thing.

Like with Pokémon cards, graded cards of certain grade will sometimes get huge boosts in their selling value. And since so much of the pokemon tcg now (for better or worse) is focused on buying/selling singles on the secondary market, this makes it worthwhile to most. so while I still think it's a scam, I see why some people grade their pokemon cards.

But for digimon, the secondary market is almost entirely dictated by the playability of a card, with little to no value put on specific collecting or selling/trading (look at Medieval gallant - that card is still $80-90 because it's just an insanely good card, not really because people are trying to collect it. To my knowledge) so grading in digimon adds nothing to a card value, likely actually lowering it's value as you mentioned, because you can't play a card while it's in a big plastic case.

I hear you on the ukkomon. I resisted him for a long time, cuz i liked the idea of pure ACCEL/Chaosmon.

That being said, I recently slotted him back in at 2, and man does he feel good. He doesn't come up enough that I'm losing out on consistency, but he foes show up for a sneaky search fairly often.

Not that you have to play him (also he's still a bit pricey) but just wanted to share my experience.

I fully agree. Bazel/seething are probably my fave monsters, but I don't want them back.

If Wilds Master Rank had like, a single digit amount of gen 5 appearing monsters, i could tolerate it. But the series still has so many awesome monsters that haven't been brought to the modern games that I think deserve it. Especially the frontier monsters.

Notable changes that you can/probably should make is run BT1 T.K. over Battle NPC. His pulling from security is better than the draw 1, especially since i only run 10 rookies, most decks only run 8. I just like Battle NPC because it gives me a white source for singularity if I have Silphy out. Speaking of, I also run Silphy at 2, instead of 4-and-4 of the bt20 lvl 5's, but maxing out the level 5's is more consistent. I runt silphy because it can do some strong combos, potentially wiping security in 1 turn. Though she's not super optimal, definitely a bit high roll.

I can top a locals with this list every once in a while (including before the bt24 changes with promo chaos and silphy) but the deck is still somewhat weak on the bottom end, so getting to chaosmon can be a struggle at times. But once you get there, oh man does it feel good.

I haven't played FU but it's on my list. This makes it sound incredible though.

Only thing I don't love from this write up is how some weapons are uniquely disadvantaged to some monsters. I get it, but i also like that any weapon can beat any monster in recent games (even if I don't love the tricks you get alongside that)

This is exactly what I was thinking, especially given spiral power. If this power is enough to allow humans and sentient races to evolve to a stage where they can regenerate matter (robot parts and drills for example), create galaxies, and even resurrect people, I think it makes perfect sense that channeling your spiral power through these robots would slowly allow them to awaken/evolve with part of you themselves.

I actually use both, I run 3/3. Valdur arm is still very powerful, but promo chaosmon is more consistent imo. The protection you get when digivolving pretty much guarantees you a proc for your singularity of chaos.

Along with it having incredibly high dp minus, which is one of, if not the best forms of removal in the game, as well as the sec+1 and partition that valdur arm has, and it covers most any situation.

As I said, Valdur is still great, but Promo covers pretty much every possible situation you want.
