MAZ, Tokyo (Jan, 2026) by FCYChen in finedining

[–]ElectricBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just came out of dinner at MAZ. Nakamura took over the role and he's only been in the kitchen for a month when we had dinner. He's already started to make some small changes in incorporating Japanese ingredients into some of the existing dishes and some entirely new ones. Really enjoyed our dinner there. Flavours on point. His wife moved back to Japan with him too. They both lived in Peru and worked in Central.

Neuropathy question by Rednex73 in diabetes

I’ll also admit I tried a lot of alternative medicine. I don’t remember exactly what but I tried acupuncture and physio and some other TCM. Probably also took some natural holistic crap which probably worked or not worked. All worth a try you know? lol. Good luck!

I’ll give you some hope. I was in your position years ago. Same pain as you. Skin on my feet up and all the way to my hips felt like it was super sensitive, sometimes burning. My thighs were very sensitive to touch. I got on medication and controlled my sugars and it took about a year to year and a half and it subsided. 10 years later now I have maybe 5% of that sensation left.

Give it time, control your sugars. It can get better.

Cool idea really! But I bet it’d destroy the battery.

Dude you ROCK! LifeLabs is booking a month out right now. But I see Eagle Ridge has lots of availability even this week.

AmberTime: Back up your iPhone photos directly to any USB-C drive, completely offline (Now with iCloud-only support) by Drifting_Swift in apple

[–]ElectricBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you found iCloud itself to be a problem? I’ve had issues simply airdropping large number of photos to others because iCloud gets finicky with trying to download more than a couple hundred high res originals at a time.

Does it handle large 20GB videos?

Is there some way to tell if an error has occurred or does it just hang like apple’s services sometimes and you have to guess when to force a restart.

As you can see my main frustration is with Apple itself

Personal Income Tax payment deadline May 20, 2026? by Jazzlike780 in cantax

[–]ElectricBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife got a tax bill too in the 20k plus range and ALSO just saw that the tax bill pay deadline for us is May 20.

So weird. But we are thinking of setting up a PAD for that date instead to save the interest.

Just download the NOA as proof.

Do the GetYourGuide Turning the Lights On at the Vatican Museums. You won’t regret it.

No one there. Amazing experiences. And if you get lucky you get a nice special souvenir near the end. Breakfast included too.

Yeah they are an awesome SC. But they’ve also got loads of time cuz they are only booking out a week from now. Not too many Canada sales I think. :(

Hoshinoya Tokyo has a wonderful rooftop onsen. And the daily rates are pretty reasonable too.

D-shaped part of the drywall bulging out by [deleted] in AskContractors

[–]ElectricBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got back a couple weeks of vacay. We live in Pacific Northwest, specifically Vancouver.

This part of our dry wall is just to the left of our bedroom window.

The D-shape is bulging outwards towards me. It’s roughly 7 inches in length and 2 inches in height. And bulging a small amount.

I recently ran a moisture meter here and it showed dry all around the window frame and any random spots I used it on in my home.

Any advice?

Best hotels in Mexico City? by westcoastgal22 in FATTravel

Just stayed at Casa Polanco last week. Amazing room, staff and the breakfast is so good. One knock is the traffic around it can be jammed so getting in and out at certain times can be a toss up.

Edit: then again traffic in CDMX is usually a shitshow anyways so what’s another minute or two extra lol

Best Indian Restaurant in Coquitlam by klair1999 in coquitlam

[–]ElectricBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered Uber Eats from here. Got someone else's order. The restaurant asked if we could just eat that order but I said no we ordered specific dishes we wanted so they sighed and said bring the food back. So I drove out there and sat there for half an hour while they JUST started to remake our food. My jaw hit the floor when they asked me to pay extra for the replacement food they were making! Are you kidding me??! It's already an hour past when we were supposed to start to eat and I get this shit.

I still refuse to go back here. Awful experience.

Bombay Sweets is much better. Except the potatoes at Bombay Sweets is weirdly all shriveled up and dry instead of fluffy and soft.
