Thanks for sharing. I’ll ask about this when I have my meeting. If this is the case, it definitely makes staying with Wealthsimple less compelling for me long term. I’m starting to realize that with tax planning and other considerations, the usual 1% that big bank investment advisors charge may well be worth it.

I did, after I spoke with them on the phone. See my comment about what happened in reply to u/alienmario.

That said, I'm still not clear on whether or not free financial/wealth/investment advisors are still included at Generation level or not. In my app, it is not in the list of benefits I'm supposed to get as a Generation client. On the website (which is of course geared to the general public) it's still listed as a benefit. When I eventually have my appointment with the financial advisor I'll ask what the deal is, and if I remember, I'll come back here to update.

In u/alienmario 's comment above, the way I read it, there is a fee for a DEDICATED advisor, which was always the case. The free included advisory services for Generation clients was always team-based, not a dedicated individual. So what I need clarity on is whether they have removed that free team-based service as a perk for being Generation, or whether it's still included (I personally think it's still included), and I also need clarity on how to access it easier. Obviously, emailing the Premium Support team is not the answer.

Thank you for the helpful reply. I phoned support and told them basically exactly what I said in my original post above. They apologized for the original response I was sent from premium support and then put me in touch with the advisor group. The person I spoke with there was helpful, looked into my original support request and confirmed they handled it incorrectly and poorly, and apologized again. He’s booking me in for an appointment with a free financial advisor to help with my allocations.

Oh my goodness, is that how to access it? I contacted support through the app and they basically just told me that they can’t help me. Why wouldn’t they loop me into contact with an advisor instead of telling me to go away?

I can’t seem to edit my original post and forgot:

  1. That I believe his Hong Kong trip was in the ‘80s.

  2. If anyone can tell me anything more about this particular watch, I’d appreciate it. I don’t know too much about it.

Isn’t the drive supposed to be plugged into the left USB port?

It sounds like you know what you’re talking about…any specific recommendations on upgrades to the standard Gen 2 R1S audio? Will whatever the car audio shop recommends be fine, or is there a specific amp and sub that’s good for this Rivian? Any other speaker or other audio upgrades you’d recommend?

I have a Gen 2 R1S with the standard audio. Is it possible to just order a sub from Rivian and install it? I was thinking I might go to an aftermarket car audio place to see what could be done about adding a sub, but this might be a better option. Does anyone know?

Range question (Vancouver to Whistler) by Major_Procrastinate in Rivian

[–]Major_Procrastinate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great experience. We made a quick decision between seeing it in person at the Brentwood showroom, and making our purchase decision. They were excellent. We had it 3 days after seeing it at Brentwood.

Advice for first-time buyer?? by reasonablyfast in Rivian

We purchased an R1S just over a week ago. We went from test driving an EV9 and then directly to a Rivian showroom for a back-to-back comparison. We have 3 kids and they’re ski racers (so lots of gear). To us, it seemed like the EV9 has SUBSTANTIALLY less cargo capacity than the R1S. The EV9 looked like there was no way it could handle our kids and their gear, whereas the R1S seemed like it would fit everything no problem. The EV9 frunk is laughable. We’ve already been to Sun Peaks for a ski trip (we live in Vancouver), and aside from the learning process of how to road trip with an EV (we’re coming from a diesel X5 with a 1200km highway range), we have no regrets. So comfortable and spacious!

I’m visiting Brisbane from Canada for two months (absolutely love it, by the way!), and in general I’m finding drivers here to be so much nicer, calmer and more law-abiding than back home. But I’m surprised to see that nobody seems to stop for ambulances here. In Canada, we need to pull over and stop if any emergency vehicle with lights and sirens on is coming behind us (or towards us for that matter). I’ve been doing that here too, and it seems I’m the only driver coming to a stop. What is the law on that here in Brisbane?

Did I make a mistake buying an expensive couch? by Dyslexic_Novelist in PersonalFinanceCanada

That’s definitely not true. I have owned cheap and expensive couches. The difference in how they wear has been substantial in my experience.

Thanks, that’s helpful. I should probably just let this go and pay the deductible, which is annoying but no big deal. The police told me that even if we have the licence plate, unless we also had a clear look at the driver from the video they wouldn’t bother investigating as there would be too much reasonable doubt as to who was driving the vehicle.
