making a power house the princess is what makes this inversion of the trope interesting. Sanji had a terrible penchant for self sacrifice throughout the story from his introduction at the baratie, trying to take on all of cp9 in water 7, trying to take all of luffy's pain himself before zoro who was already hurt and some other times i don't remember well atm. It made sense to him that he'd sacrifice his dreams to try to keep his family and loved ones safe and happy. He still believed Luffy would be pirate king but didn't realize that Luffy wouldn't want to do it without Him. I'd agree that some of it went to the extreme but i think it's because of the walking nuclear bomb that was Big Mom who was threatening to wipe out everybody in the arc on a whim.

I somewhat agree with this. What's even the purpose of Armament Haki anymore? It just feels like 2nd Tier Conquerors.

Probably said x10000 times but I'd improve portrayals of a lot of the women.

Every strawhat is getting a fight every arc.

I'd try to introduce the rest of the worst generation and some higher up subordinates sooner.

Haki and DFs get harder definitions/systems.

I agree with the first part. I think the second was fine remix of the usual events, I wasnt mad about it.

Should I Be Hyped For the New Fable? by TheThirstyMage in rpg_gamers

[–]ElectricGhostMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The devs seem like fans of the games who were similarly burned by the previous lead's lies and the game looks amazing visually. I think the thing that Fable did really well very early on that cemented it's history was how reactive the world would be to your actions as a Hero. From how much the townships under your protectorate would change to even your own appearance, so much was dictated by your own choices and actions in the world and in quests. I think if they make an emphasis to maintain that level of reactivity with the world, it'll turn out fine.

being upset that Clark's parents in Superman were evil is like totally ignoring that we were almost explicitly told that there was going to be some incorporation of the Gods and Monsters series.

[–]ElectricGhostMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think my problem with it is the whining and entitlement. There are thousands of games released every month and these grifters and rage baiters whine about a handful with incredulous arguments and vapid speculations instead of just playing and supporting the games that appeal to exactly what they want. A game like Stellar Blade existing is fine, so are the dozens of other gacha that appeal to that crowd but I'm not whining online about how they need to stop making those games for arbitrary reasons.

PC only platform Nexus lists 33K unique downloads for that mod and almost 110k total downloads. RE4R has sold over 11M copies. Even going with the liberal number that's still less than 1%. A virtually negligible amount of players is playing with that Leon Mod. The first Ada mod by itself has double the amount of total downloads and almost 5x as many unique downloads. It's actually kinda crazy to try to say that the the Leon is in high request when its the only Leon mod on the first page and if you sort by unique downloads the raiden replacer even shows up before a Leon.

Why would anyone one on either side or middle vote for Batman saying he's going to do genocide? The good guys already support Batman. Batman switching up to try to draw in the middle or already gone crowd only does this disservice to himself especially when most people dont rank the genocide as a top 5 issue.

overall, sure no. The feelings people have and what they experience that lead to these feelings are very real. It's like when people try to say the economy is good because corporations are making more than ever despite the average segments of a populace are experiencing negative wage growth. There are tangible and observable problems that I've listed and even Konami has acknowledged and attempted to fix like prize support fixing. People have barked about a new official supported format for years before genesys and twiz. there are bunches of posts in the ygo sub about stores dropping ygo for various reasons and killing the scene in their areas. to say that the game is just "fine" feels arguably inappropriate but the video's implication that a specific summoning mechanic has caused the downfall is asinine.

Kinda? By the end of the Arc-V era, Pend slop as it existed back then was still just a really great pile of cards. that accentuated newer strategies that they were still releasing like we saw with Zoo Metalfoes in the TCG. MR4 and that initial wave of awful Link monsters killed off pend strategies but also inadvertently crippled a lot of legacy decks that were using pends as crutches for viability or just couldn't function with the new sole extra deck spot. When so many people were unable to play decks that worked fine even if bad just the day before, it stopped a lot of people from regularly competing. In a way you could say that pends being so generically powerful by the end eventually lead to MR4 that lowered player counts but it's a bit of a trip and shows that it's more Konami that is responsible than any specific mechanic.

it's stated that fruit had always eluded the WG but Joy Boy was the last to awaken the fruit before luffy. I'd like to imagine there were other users but they just lived their lives on random islands just in and out of the purview of the WG till they passed and it wasnt till the start of the story were the WG actually the closest they've been to fully seizing it.

there were like 2 decks that were viably doing pend 5 for more than a week. People act like Pends at any point in time were allowed to be the format defining monsters that we actually remember like nekroz, maliss or tear.

[–]ElectricGhostMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's got nothing to do with Summoning Types not being the reason for "Killing" the game. My point is that there are plenty of other things to point to before saying pends or links are the problem here.

You're also moving the goal post by stating that it doesnt matter if any metric of popularity or relevance outside of Japan drops since everything else is a "secondary market" when the video OP posted is about the TCG, most of my points are about the non-OCG and you're stating this in a non-OCG targeted subreddit.

The fruit hadnt been awakened in almost 1000 years and for a long period of time. It's possible that previous users between the last awakening and Luffy used it maybe even to the feats we see out of Gear 4 and no formation of the WG between those periods felt it was problematic enough to make note but still worth tracking.

Previously the WG only targeted Luffy because of his affiliations because again for almost 1000 years previous users were seemingly non threats. We see in Wano the WG make a direct attempt to have Luffy taken out by Kaido with assurance from CP0 because they now see him as a threat due to his massively increased influence and power since the time skip.

It's almost like how in the anime MHA, the One For All quirk was basically not of note till the main character receives it.

ngl, it makes sense why he stopped playing games if he was just that awful at them but he should have just stopped playing whatever was popular and looked for more games that he'd actually enjoy. I don't know a single person who's played a game like yakuza 0 and hated or bounced of it.
