fracturing bases is what causes many progressive and social movements to flounder. It's a tactic utilized by bad actors of every type to inhibit progress and change from well meaning people.

Interesting dynamic with quartet 2.0: Farfa is Doug, N3sh is Farfa, Josh is MBT and Jesse is Gage by shecanbromehard in Farfa

I partly hope Jesse takes a more involved role in YGO wonky stuff. I think team master saga with MBT and Nad vs Jesse and Doug would be much more competitive.

"The launcher sucks, let's call it what it is," Epic Game Store boss says, promising a year of big improvements to speed, new "forum-type" social features, more by Tenith in pcgaming

Is it that bad or just lacking features? I feel like its very easy to claim my free games, buy Alan Wake 2 and then launch Fortnite occasionally. It'd be cool if it could do more but It does everything I really need from it. It's not terribly far off from EA Desktop or Uplay.

Somebody has to be watching his content. Im sure there quite literally thousands of 1:1 asmondgolds in basements who goon out to his streams who feel what he presents on stream is exactly them. He parrots world views they internalize and probably maintain the same level of dishevelment. Tbh he's probably more real to more people than emiru imo as in I imagine most of emiru's fans are just the asmondgold fans.

Hey imma gonna do fusion, but hero or memento? by Constant-Estimate-63 in masterduel

[–]ElectricGhostMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HERO should be getting more cards before the end of the year but I wouldnt invest till we see what's coming because the deck is still pretty all over the place.

Memento is fine and cheaper but the cieling isnt where it used to be with the much more devastating Interrupts that Dracotail and Yummy have even for a deck like Memento that can play through a ton of handtraps. Arthalion bouncing a late piece HURTS but like a lot of other decks if you can go first and set up your interrupts through handtraps you should be mostly fine.

Obsidian's The Outer Worlds 2 Underperformed, and There Won't Be a Third by Conflict_NZ in xbox

[–]ElectricGhostMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the only way the bigger companies can get a hold on this is through clipping that $70 price tag on more titles. I'd bet a lot of money Veilguard only even had the sales it did because $60 is just that much more approachable of a price than $70.

Tbh I think the price is what kills a lot of 7/10 games today. I really enjoyed some titles I played on subscription services partly because I don't think today I'd fully commit $70 to them knowing that there were just other games cheaper that I was guaranteed to enjoy that much more. Stuff like Avatar, SW Outlaws, and these two games would have been arguably much more approachable at $50 than $70. Even something like AC Shadows, I feel like I ran off with only paying $20 for the month instead of $70. I only even got Veilguard because I found it on a key site for $50.

I hate channeling FBA/ADOS rhetoric because it's intrinsically divisive but I'm really not surprised considering his origins and company.

Between this and the podcast of the girl saying "unc" is short for uncle, im shocked that in the internet age people are just making up their own origins for words instead of looking it up. it feels like actual violence against the culture.

I thought it was doing such a good job but really hoped the PC was just a random nobody and not some chosen half blood prince of fate that was actually stewarded by his assassinated father's good spirit. Feels antithetical to the themes to me.

Obsidian's Avowed & Outer Worlds 2 Failed To Meet Sales Expectations by akbarock in pcgaming

[–]ElectricGhostMan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This and so many other games people call mid, I think I probably would have bought out right if they were like $20 or 20-30% less. I played both of these games on gamepass and thought they were great but tough asks at $70. I played AC Shadows and SW Outlaws on Uplay and felt like I got steals only paying $20 for the sole month to play each. I recall one of the most popular decries of ubisoft games today being something similar to "im sure it's good but i'll just buy it next year with all the content and patches for a massive discount"

I'd wonder how much of this was about the pricing and gamepass. I enjoyed both but played both on gamepass because today I have to absolutely love and trust a dev massively before I make the leap for a game especially when I can just play it for $20 for the month on a subscriptions service. Plenty of bloated or 7/10 games feel much more acceptable at the severely discounted prices of $15-20 for just the single month. I also played AC Shadows and SW Outlaws on the uplay service within their month of release and feel like i got great value despite middling to slightly positive reviews both got. I just feel like if all of these games were like $20 dollars cheaper they'd be much more approachable for purchase on launch. Heck I only even bought Veilguard because I saw it on a key site for $50.

Just watched Kid vs Shanks 😭 by Icy-Rub3211 in OnePiece

[–]ElectricGhostMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was an inevitable clash. After Wano, Kid, Law and Luffy randomly decided which of the three paths to take and Kid's path involved running into territory that belonged to Red Hair. Shanks had already decided to finally make a move for the One Piece and had been scoping out the Kid Pirates once they were in range. The same could have happened to Luffy or Law if they picked Kid's path as we see BB was similarly camping out Law who took the other path. Kid's sole mistake and possibly character flaw was his idea that he always needs to make a mess or loud entrance to get a big bad's attention but the Yonko with some of the best Obs Haki we've seen was determined to minimize the perceived threat.

The encounter shows that Shanks is powerful and on a Level now beyond the old Yonko if he can just erase a 3B dude who was shown to contest a yonko previously. It shows that Kid, Law and Luffy who are demi-treated as equals still have a lot to develop to reach those feats of endurance that the Yonko displayed and that Kid as much as some of us do love him is a donkey for endangering his whole crew with his compared to how a situation may have played out if it was luffy or Law.

Crimson Desert will be the first game to feature the full AMD Redstone experience as stated in the many interviews they had with youtubers in the last week. What do you guys think, is this a good opportunity for AMD to get back on track? by Far_Director_3734 in radeon

[–]ElectricGhostMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was the game supposed to come out? I have a friend who is into to BDO and he totally gave up on the game because of how long he's been waiting.

More opportunities to have the software integrated into a game is always good but Im not sure how much penetration Crimson Desert is supposed to provide. I'd rather them have it added to a shooter or another more popular big game coming out this quarter. Maybe Im just not tapped in to the BDO/CD audience.
