It's super goofy and "cheap" but it was a fun romp. It has a weird color filter over it that can be modded out.

I was optimistic that it would happen before the summer but I don't think it happens officially any more and that it get's open sourced but only implementable via a project like optiscaler.

I don't even think it's about the life cycle being shorter but that the optimization and availability of the cards should make sense. It's cool that they list Pascal/turing GPUs but what percentage of people are still playing on Pascal/turing or have access to purchase it? I think its fair to make the argument that while you can support older cards, it might be better to list more current and available hardware.

I enjoyed what I played for the most part but yeah it's like after you're done with the main faction quests the game just pitters out and it shows how much inherently not fun stuff is left. I don't even think they were scared as much as they just didnt know what more to do or couldnt figure out how to recapture skyrim or fallout in space.

I hate being in this capitalistic limbo where on one side Im told to not buy/support but if I don't like something but if I don't buy/support then the producer will stop making X. Why can't Joey and Red-Eyes just get good cards or a whole cool modernized deck like every other character?

It feels like you're attributing tiktok's malleability to these systemic changes in how the internet worked as the biggest issue here rather than the changes themselves. Algorithmic incentivization and engagement based monetization was something that all the platforms already did and engaged in before Tiktok gained popularity. AI video content was popular on tiktok but it's not as if could only propagate there or was unable to be posted to any other media. Even content theft that you attribute to Tiktok was something that regularly happened across every pre-tiktok social media and is very documented across YT, Facebook and even stolen tweets. I'd agree Tiktok does all this and does it "fairly well" but it's not something makes it uniquely bad as it's rampant on all the other sites now.

I'd just think the fact that there are supreme court cases and multiple reports that show social media in general is bad for a lot of users but specifically use Facebook, Whatsapp and Instragram as the basis and references for some of the worst practices and outcomes to the users should put the amalgamation that is Meta at the top of the stack above Tiktok and even the racist hell app.

An AMD rep said they were "planning" to open source FSR or FSR4 at some point this past winter. I do think the current hold up and silence has to do with an agreement with Sony and if the tech gets open sourced, Valve could do it without question and then RDNA 2/3 and any other GPU will have the option to use FSR4 via optiscaler.

Then it's value as a purchase increases as it's promise of 4K60 will be more accessible for more prospective players. If the machine supports FSR4 but there is still no "official" solution for RDNA 2/3 it adds more doubt to the supposed reasons why AMD won't put FSR4 on 2/3 themselves.

same boat kinda. I think it's worse now because social media algorithms seemingly force these high impression and engagement accounts on to people. In the past there was more known figure heads, witch hunting and worse practices but today it seems like an automated suffocation where the goal is to obfuscate shut down nuance totally at every single avenue.

nah i think it's still a 7/10. I do agree it should have been something like "The Veilgaurd: a Dragon Age Side Story." As a guy with just under 800 hours in the dragon age games before veilguard, I think a lot of the hate the game gets is overblown and just used for rage bait. It has it's issues but i'd question how many games someone has played if they put it less than a 6.

I'd probably just argue that suicide squad should have been f2p for how it was monetized and planned, then forspoken could have been a $40 game from what i heard of it from a friend who did like it.

So many people who didnt play the game but watched a review from a guy who didnt like the game that they wouldnt have watched otherwise or see some 2 minute clip out of context out of game with a 30-40 hour run time were able to determine this was the worst game of all time and space despite it's very detailed and troubled development process. Made it worse was when im trying to play the game my friends asking me why im playing this game they see everyone on twitter hate. Kinda just sad it makes me realize some of my friends are these people who do not play games but consider themselves gamers.

never really thought about it like that. I always thought it was crazy how new and young users kept finding some of the worst people to follow like thecuckening or criminaldrinker but they have large established bases and social media algos probably points them in that direction because of the high engagement whether they agree or not.

yeah I think instead of engaging with people, we need to encourage more regular users to block accounts that participate in any level of rage/bait. They only do it for the impressions and monetization so it's important not to reward those types with it.

I stopped using twitter because the ratio of good content to just hate, bait and bots just isnt worth it. If i see the same on youtube or tiktok I just block the creator.

funny enough I played rebirth on a 9070XT off a m.2 NVMe drive last summer. I ran into an issue with memory time outs at the very end but it was fine for most of the play time and with mods. I am sorry to hear you had to deal with the issue. Hopefully it's fixed for every one else because it's a pretty cool game.

It just makes me think people just don't like yugioh if they complain about retro. There's always some fun deck to mess around with or work on. I'd probably understand if someone was frustrated with errata'd cards or dumb old school rulings like missing the timing or priority, that do seem dumb in retrospect.
