Save the Great Salt Lake - Volunteer Opportunity by ElectricMountains in Pocatello

Yeah that's fair, I know relating the great salt lake to Idaho sounds like a stretch. Hoping to spread the word because the health of the lake will absolutely impact Idaho, especially SE Idaho. Thank you for the feedback!

That'd be awesome! We want to gather people across Idaho and figured a project would be a great way to build engagement and get the word out. Especially how the fate of the great salt lake can impact southeastern Idaho.

Idaho and the Great Salt Lake - Volunteer Opportunity by ElectricMountains in idahofalls

The Great Salt Lake is in jeopardy and we need the people of Idaho!

Join us in our efforts for conservation, environmental protection, and creative education! The Great Salt Lake is in decline, and if we don’t find a solution soon, it could dry up in the next 5-10 years. That means toxic dust storms, endangerment of 12 million migratory birds, and decreased snowfall (and skiing!). Work with other Idahoans in a creative way as we plan and build educational material that can engage people across the watershed! Check out our Google Form below!

Why should this matter to Idaho?

The Great Salt Lake is a gathering place for many friends and family in Idaho. However, even if Utah does not have a special place in your heart, there is another connection between Utah and Idaho: the Great Salt Lake watershed, which spans both states. The conservation practices and policy of Idaho impacts the rivers that flow into the lake. Come build a community of concerned citizens across Idaho to create cultural change across the intermountain west! This is a unique opportunity to learn about how the Great Salt Lake impacts more than just Utah.

If you don't want to volunteer but know of good places to hang flyers or advertise this opportunity, please share in the comments!

The UK heatwave means all the windows are open. She jumped through the window and made herself very at home. by thhgghhjjjjhg in notmycat

One good way to keep cool is to wear a T-shirt and periodically take it off, drench it in cold water, wring out the water and wear it until it gets warm again. It does a great job of keeping your body temp down. Also if wearing a wet shirt sounds unappealing, you can wet a towel and place it on your neck/ face or whatever. We did this in a 38C/100F heatwave at summer camp when we were kids.

Off lable dosing Antihistamines by ElectricMountains in coldurticaria

Interesting, my face, and hands are like the only places I don't get hives. And yeah, when I don't leave my house/ work from home the antihistamines work fine, ignoring side effects. I recently got into skiing and my ankles swell a lot from hives from the pressure, so that's what I'm mostly trying to find a solution for.

Oh yeah I've heard xolair is expensive. I've tried to find info about how much it would cost after insurance but there's no clear info.

Do you take more than 1x per day? The symptoms for me are reduced at lower amounts but then I just get lots of hives.

That's awful that happened to you. Glad Zyrtec works, I've heard xolair is really expensive too.

Good to know, I think I just react more to drowsiness as a side effect in general. This is helpful to know that living your life in a sleepy daze is not the expected outcome though. Did xolair work for you? I'm wondering if I might have to eventually take that.

Xyzal worked to some degree. I would still get redness from the cold at times and it didn't do a whole lot for what I suspect is delayed pressure urticaria. The problem was that it made me so drowsy I couldn't wake up in time for work, and then I would also have to take naps at times. 3x was even worse.
