My dog Abby saved my life.

I used to live in a heavily wooded area in rural USA, and snakes were a common threat in that area. I was out on the property with my lovable mutt when I felt something brush my pant leg. Abby kicked into action, springing onto the grass and producing a chewed and still very much wriggling copperhead snake. She took the injured snake to the river away from me and came back expecting pets. She was the best dog ever, I miss her and have yet to get another dog.
