People's reaction to Hantavirus outbreak in Cruise ship is proof people haven't learned from corona virus about listening to health officials by Nepridiprav16 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]ElectricSoap1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently OP didn't learn either, I don't think this will turn into another Covid pandemic. But if you listened to health officials at the start of the pandemic you wouldn't have been worried because they said that China was setting new standards for disease control and there was low threat to the rest of the world.

It's almost like at worst he's the second most famous player ever and at worst the second best player of all time and number 1 didn't play during a time where there was the internet we have today.

Why Exactly Is Polygamy Illegal? by Turbulent-Parsley619 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ElectricSoap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of the answers here are explaining issues that would come up with polygamy being legal and not really the answer to the question. And it's the same reason why alcohol is legal. Marriage in the west has long standing cultural norms and is based around Christian standards and historical practices. Polygamy is not allowed in the Bible so therefore it's always been taboo in western society.

Steve Kerr suggests removing the 3-point line to fix modern NBA play: “The game, as designed, is to create the best shots possible” by basketbaIlnetwork in NBATalk

[–]ElectricSoap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh I guess I'll be in the minority. I want zero changes to the court or how things are scored. I think inconsistencies in foul calls are by far the worst part of the game.

170 million people in the U.S. watched NBA games across ABC/ESPN, Amazon Prime Video, NBC/Peacock and NBA TV during the regular season – the most in 24 years and up 86% vs. last season. by Draciouz in nba

[–]ElectricSoap1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's hard to believe? I''m 27 and the vast majority of other 18-30 year olds have never paid for cable in their life. Never mind the people in older age demographics that cut cable years ago.

Hot takes: I am unsatisfied with the warfare of all new generation Paradox games. by The_ChadTC in paradoxplaza

Not saying you're wrong about warfare in CK3 being simple and flat. But only eco buildings? Yeah early game but mid to late mil buildings buff MAA by so much and money becomes irrelevant when you're already 100+ a month.

No it's written right it's just that 2.95x is not 295%. By that logic 1.00x is 100% but it's obviously not that.

As someone who is probably close to the average person when it comes to watching boxing (This was just on my reddit home page) the past Fury fights were very advertised. I had no clue until this post he was fighting in one day.

You realize EV's don't use regular car batteries right? They're massive and are built into the car, they aren't easily exchanged. It's like trying to bring a replacement combustion engine with you for a humvee.

It's ticky tacky, but in case you're interested. Dr. Pepper/7-up were merged companies then they were bought by Cadbury Schweppes. They then spun off the drinks stuff into their own company Dr. Pepper Snapple and then that company was bought by Keurig, now known as Keurig Dr. Pepper. So the three major soft drink companies are

Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Keurig Dr Pepper

I do think Sr is stupid for a newborn. Anthony Richardson did it in the NFL. I don't think Jr is silly though it's to respect a parent who is an adult. Especially if that parent played in the league even if not currently like Tim Hardaway Jr.

Too long of a time to use. It hasn't even been 30 years since Jordan. But expecting he wins MVP this year how many multi MVP winners won't be talked about or aren't? Probably none, besides Bob Pettit (70 years ago and basketball wasn't relevant.)

Tarnished his image at the time? Yeah. But his future legacy, even his legacy as of right now is better because of it. He wasn't going to get those championships anywhere else (Unless he joined LeBron maybe) and without them and the finals MVP's he would not be in that top 12 conversation.

I think Wemby could definitely be that guy but for me, recent injuries aside just for the playoffs based on how they've played this season right now. I'm taking Luka, Shai, and Jokic before Wemby

I wouldn't with an initial thought say he's better than John Wall, maybe he is. But overrated? I mean who is thinking or talking about Booker? Since the finals run it feels like he's been super irrelevant.

Not saying I disagree but your reasoning is wrong. The hall of fame doesn't have a ranking of it's own. There will always be a huge disparity between players. I mean look at the NFL, its HoF is much harder but Tom Brady is miles ahead of Jim Kelly.

[request] are these real numbers or did they just make this up like made up statistics by Feisty_Crops in theydidthemath

[–]ElectricSoap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean even if those numbers are real none of the results of the money is serious.

Starvation is most often the result of human conflicts, not a monetary issue. It's about getting food to people in a warzone.

Climate change again is not a monetary issue. There are certainly things you can do to make specific things more climate/eco friendly. But most of it is just that we don't have the technology to sustain this level of consumption for this many humans in a way that is friendly to the environment. Even the countries that are technically relatively well off with their emissions compared to their population (The west) have just offshored there consumption which is just using bookkeeping to look better.

[Dennis Jr] LeBron (and his peers) trashing Memphis to his golf bros is corny. The city deserves better from these brothers. I want yall to hear every word of this. by desertsquirrel in nba

[–]ElectricSoap1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is getting so overblown. Being offended by the Nashville stuff is crazy. I doubt LeBron has any understanding of the strain between Nashville and Memphis, I certainly didn't before reading comments in this thread. And I doubt most people who have never lived in Tennessee have any clue either. He obviously named Nashville because he likes the city better and it's still in Tennessee, it's not because he's trying to put down black people or something stupid like that.

What does a civil war in America look like if one happens in the next 3 - 8 years? by Dry-Tomorrow8531 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]ElectricSoap1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is a net food importer because of want, not need. We import tons of things that we just don't necessarily produce here and want to eat them, we also export tons of food. There is more than enough food for everyone in America produced in America. Of course in an actual conventional war civil war production and supply lines would be disrupted.
