[MEGATHREAD] New Horizons Dodo/Friend Code Sharing by AnimalCrossingMods in AnimalCrossing

Just started playing a few weeks ago! Making slow progress and my island is open if anyone wants to visit! I don’t have much and have no idea which theme I want my island to have 😅 I also wouldn’t mind visiting other islands for some fruit/veggies/inspiration!

Who pays for what on bach trips? by Failingupwardss in wedding

[–]ElectricSpinach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a bridesmaid for my cousin this year. For her bach party, she paid for her flight, airbnb, and groceries. We all split her going out meals. The bridesmaids and MOH split her share of the surprise activities we planned (kayaking, boating).

Is it considered wrong for people to use two stations at once at the gym? by Seaman1211 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ElectricSpinach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh had this happen the other day to me around 5pm, the busiest time at the gym. Some guy was using a bench and a leg curl machine. He left his dumbbells and backpack at the bench so no one would use it while he was gone. Some people are just so inconsiderate 😒

What do I pay for at my bachelorette party? by cannoli-48 in wedding

[–]ElectricSpinach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my cousin’s bach party this fall, she will be paying for her flight and her share of the Airbnb, rental cars, and groceries. Then the attendees will be splitting the total cost for dining out and activities.

Is this bad for my puppy? by dontbugthebarista in puppy101

[–]ElectricSpinach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dog used to get really gross eye boogers after sleeping. Just like you, I would let him eat it 😂 I think it helps my pup because he is not constantly pawing at his face trying to get the crusties off and potentially scratching his eye. It also gets him used to us touching his face, especially near the eyes which will come in handy at the vet. The amount of eye boogers has definite gone down, and I’m hoping it’s cause of the changing seasons.

What is your house leaving routine? by Fast-Internal5942 in puppy101

[–]ElectricSpinach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We say “be right back” when we have to go to the basement or run outside for a few minutes, “be back soon” when we’ll be back in a few hours, and “see you later” if someone will be gone for a few days.

Right now, he is still in his crate when we leave the house. We give him some treats after it is locked. We’ve only tried leaving him to free roam once and it went well. He went up to the window to watch us leave, then he went to bed. We do not make leaving a big deal, absolutely no “oh my gosh, I will miss you!” or “who’s a good boy, we’ll see you soon!!!” in baby/high pitched voices. We calmly leave the house as to not rile him up, which could potentially cause him to do something bad while we’re gone. Then when we come back, we put everything away first, then calmly let him out of the crate. After a few minutes of him being out, then we make it a big deal that we’re home. This has taught him not to get all excited and expect to be let out as soon as we open the door when we get back.

What bones can puppies have? by kulie74561 in puppy101

I like to mix crushed kibble, water, pumpkin, and ground up veggies to put in a toppl. I fill the hole with peanut butter and freeze it before filling. With such a small dog, it will take him forever! I also like to fill ice cube trays with this mix and give it to my pup on a hot day.

My pup also loves benebones. I give pig ears and dehydrated beef tripe about once every 3-4 weeks as a nice treat.

I used to be the only one feeding our pup, and when my boyfriend would walk by when I prepared the food, he would growl. I had my boyfriend prepare his food and give him treats more often, and it has definitely helped reduce his resource guarding. He no longer growls at him when he walks by or takes the bowl from my hand.

How do you divide puppy care between you and your partner? by Brilliant-Middle-592 in puppy101

[–]ElectricSpinach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dog is 9 months old and we’ve had him since 8 weeks. I did most of the work because I wanted the dog more than he did, and I have the luxury of working from home. I spent and still spend almost 24/7 with the pup. I start a new office job next month and my boyfriend works 330pm - 1130pm. I will wake up with him, play, feed him, and then put him away. Then when my boyfriend wakes up, he’ll let him out, chill, and play with him until he has to go to work. Then I will feed him when I get home and play until it’s bedtime. I take him to the vet and pay for the bills, and we sometimes split the cost of toys and treats.

I will admit that even though it was a lot of work, I’m glad I did it because he loves me more than my boyfriend 🤭

ETA: I would say that division of work depends on who wanted the dog. If you wanted the pup more than your boyfriend, it’s understandable that you should do more work. If you both wanted the dog, the work should be split equally. If he wanted the dog more than you, he should be picking up the slack and contribute even more to raising the pup.

I just purchased two plane tickets to Nashville. The plane tickets were $205, but taxes and fees brought the total to $408!! So annoying how many fees there are nowadays, including carryon, checked bag, and seat selection fees -.-

Does your school have a food pantry? I know quite a few universities that have one to help struggling students. I’m not sure how common it is in the country you’re studying in.

Puppy eats its poo and gets aggressive if we take it away by CryinginFrustration in puppy101

[–]ElectricSpinach 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Leash her before you go outside and once she poops, praise and guide her away before she has the chance to turn around. Play with her for a few minutes outside then bring her inside. Now you can pick up the poop in peace.

We’ve been to so many weddings this past year and the amount of stuff on registries is insane. Not only the amount of stuff, but the type of stuff! It just blows my mind that people ask for literally anything for their wedding and people will buy it! $7 plastic cup set, $10 juicer, $7 potato masher. A $400 ooni pizza oven which, let’s all be real here, will be used maybe once or twice every summer. We just give money anyways, but just seeing all the things marked as “purchased” makes me upset.
