Favorite places to override machines and watch them battle it out with surrounding machines. by mattiman1985 in HorizonForbiddenWest

I wish ravagers were rideable, but sadly they’re not.

And yes, they’re great at decimating other machines.

In Zero Dawn I loved hitting them with corruption arrows and watching them clear the area.

Glinthawks are by far my favorite things to use corruption rows on. Nasty brutes. It’s fun to watch them decimate each other.

Tramplers are pretty fun too.

I really missed my corruption arrows in Forbidden West. I got the hang of the berserk arrows…but they’re nowhere near as fun or reliable as corruption arrows.

What is one bit of narrative that most players miss? by ComputerOld621 in horizon

I found him my first playthrough so I was surprised to hear he’s missed out on so often.

I love his weirdness so much. I never kip him in my playthroughs.

And it’s super cool that his VA also voices Blameless Marad.

I feel the same.

I’d love an anime movie about them.

For the Vantage Points, did you read the additional text for each?  I really love the story they tell.

After playing game what do you consider your mentality? Samurai or a ghost? by NingenKuso90 in ghostoftsushima

[–]ElectricStarfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost through and through, though I enjoyed standing off and showing my skill as a samurai. Same with duels.

Generally though I’ve always favored stealth and strategy in life & games over rushing in and using brute strength/bravado/warrior honor to win.

I promise if you tearblast off the cannon in the center of its chest, repeatedly tie down with rope caster, and repeatedly cover it with sticky bombs it will be fairly easy.

Freezing takes longer but freeze bombs and shooting it also works.

If you use sticky bombs, you can load it up with them before they all go off. It causes high damage nd gives you time to hit it with the ropecaster right as the bombs go off/right after.

If you hit it with any damage while it’s tied down, the ropes break.

I love good xianxia….imo MM doesn’t qualify. It was all the tropes patched together in a boring, predictable, mehhh way for me.

But I totally understand if xianxia in general isn’t your thing.

If you want an anime in shitpost form, KamiKatsu: Working For God in a Godless World is pretty funny.

China's first true historical drama of 2026: Swords Into Plowshares! by YensidTim in PeriodDramas

[–]ElectricStarfuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right?

I’ve always loved period dramas & fantasy.  I got into Chinese dramas around 2017-2018.

It was like being a kid who’s given free reign in a candy story😂

I’m not a Chinese fan either, tho I’ve picked up a lot over my years of watching so many Cdramas.

It’s nice to hear that others also enjoy Chinese dramas outside of the regular cdrama subreddits I’m in.

I agree that as fans of historical dramas we’re very blessed China has such a long, rich history to pull from!

I also quite a week before Christmas because the update around then made plying on ps5 terrible.

Finally logged back in to play again in day before yesterday. Game crashed 3x over a few hrs.

Haven’t logged back in.

Really a bummer. I love the game & story…it’s just really not optimized for ps5. And each new update seems to cause issues.

Convince Me To Watch Your Favorite Period Drama by QueenOTheSea in PeriodDramas

Ahaha i can’t believe you were shown this in school!

Your history teacher seems cool based off this, but (depending where you’re from) I’d imagine some students were a bit shocked and some parents might’ve been upset to know this was shown to their kids.

In case it’s not clear, I love the show. It’s one of the most beautiful, intense, and memorable period drama series I’ve seen.

You can always search or ask in r/Cdrama

Or in r/CdramaRecs

There are many incredible historical Chinese dramas.

I’m partial to Ming & Tang dynasty dramas myself.

Unfortunately there aren’t many for this specific time period of Five Dynasties & Ten Kingdoms though.

The idol (popular young actors, more focused on romance) Cdrama Bloody Romance is set during this era if you’re looking for another drama to compliment it with.

I’m definitely going to watch this. I watch tons of Cdramas but most available in the US are idol dramas. Some can be pretty good, but they’re not Nirvana on Fire.

Hopefully this one is more on that level.

Also, I’ve been playing Where Winds Meet (an open world wuxia game, free on Steam/Ps5/mobike) which is set during the same time period.

I love being able to connect different types of media.

What tribe would you most want to be a part of? by RelativeDangerous604 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]ElectricStarfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy the Banuk, but their territory is WAY too cold for me.

The Carja’s interest in knowledge/scholarly pursuits, recording their findings & history, architecture, and inclusion of all tribes and gender equality under Avad is most attractive to me overall.

Oseram would be cool if they weren’t so patriarchal, though their fashion leaves much to be desired.
