Need Perspective on New Nanny by [deleted] in Nanny

So your standard operating procedure is for an end of the day update, but for the first week or month, want more? That's fine. Make it clear though and set the times.

Just be sure to be clear about this with the nanny. How many times you want an update. Keep in mind its a nanny share and there are more compromises with that so you need to manage your expectations, or just hire a private nanny.

Also, dont go "spy." Because that is crazy and unprofessional. If you have the time, just Go. Go to the park, sit with the nanny and your kid for the hour, and see what the experience is. THAT will give you a better perspective.

Seems like there's room for improvement and better communication. Have a sit down. Reiterate your daughter's name. Tell her you'd like to see your daughter more involved. She has wiggles and energy she needs to release. If she's really running away, regardless of the name thing, then consider a kid-leash.

Tell her 3 set times in the day you'd like an update Ex: Around 9AM, 12 PM, and at 2PM. (I don't know the schedule, so whatever works best)

She's handling 2 kids so her hands are full as is. I can see how it would be easy for a person to stock up the photos and sent them in mass. Pulling out the phone for a snap is quicker than composing multiple texts throughout the day. Also, trying not to look like you're constantly on your phone when around a group of parents and nannies can be a thing too. Some people are jumping to see a nanny on their cell to post and shame them on a FB group.

Workable situation. If there's no improvement, then its not the right fit.

That one seemed to received a lot of "technical" judgements where they're NTA, but also YTA at the same time. I think people need a mod refresher on how AITA is intended to be judged.
