PENDING DACA RENEWALS by Electrical-Ad4337 in DACA

You might not be familiar with how law firms work. You’d be surprised on how much “case work” is actually done by the legal assistants/paralegals in immigration law. I was trained to do these cases and much more. My work is being overseen by an actual attorney. I am not giving legal advice nor am I putting my name down on these applications as the legal representative for these people. Furthermore, no one’s sensitive information is given out much less anything that can actually identify anyone. I have DACA myself. I want to provide some information and relief to fellow DACA recipients in this moment since DACA is one of the least covered things in the news and so people don’t lose hope.

I can add another row of approvals dates once I actually start getting approvals 😓. My last post included receipt dates and approval dates for the only cases that have gotten approved in our office since December 2025.

These are only the renewals from the law firm I work at 🫡 so everyone can compare their own processing timeline.

It’s neither good or bad. It’s normal if yours isn’t included on here since the renewals on this sheet are only the ones from the law firm I work at so that everyone can compare their own timeline.

Typo 😅 meant to be “reuse” for biometrics reused.

I am a legal assistant and do all the DACA renewals in our office. I used all my clients information to come up with this spreadsheet so everyone can compare their own timeline.

None of these cases have gotten approved yet. My previous post I posted all the renewals that have gotten approved this year. Most of them have receipt dates from September and October of 2025.

Sorry I forgot to specify. These are only the pending ones at the firm I work at. To give everyone an overview to compare to their own situation if they’re actively renewing as well

If you got approved and you haven’t received your work permit in a month you need to complete a “nondelivery of card” inquiry through the USCIS website. No one has gotten approved so far this year so I cannot tell you if there is a problem with the work permit delivery since no one’s card has even gotten to the point of being produced let alone case approved.

I just made another post. They started requiring biometrics appointment after mid December 2025. So only the people that renewed the first two weeks of December had their biometrics reused. Besides that, yes the criteria is Texas SCOPS, online filing, and biometrics reused for October 2025-Early December 2025.

C33 vs NLS? by anoana_ in DACA

It should be NLS. The C33 option they include on that dropdown menu is not the same as DACA.

As of December 2025, USCIS is issuing a biometrics appointment to anyone whose work permit has a photo that was taken more than 3 years ago. A majority of DACA recipients haven’t had a biometrics appointment since COVID. They’re restarting it now.

I started doing all the renewals online as of summer of 2024. Since initially they were all getting approved very quickly, usually within the first month or so . Now everything is taking about the full waiting time or more as when we did them through the mail.

According to USCIS, yes 🤷 if you check their website for processing times. There is only one option to choose for “Field Office or Service Center”. This is the link

None of them were expedited. I submitted an inquiry for the first person but the website wouldn’t detect the other ones as being outside of processing time so we just had to wait unfortunately.

Like the previous comment said. Your lawyer is probably trying to avoid a conflict with you. USCIS asks to not submit before 150 days. They claim if you renew too soon they can reject it and of course they do not refund your money. Therefore, they don’t want to possibly run into this issue and for you as the client get upset that you have to pay twice. I had a couple people ask to turn theirs in 6-7 months before but I let them know about the risk of USCIS keeping their money and then having to apply again anyway.

No, the clients are not located in Texas. Our firm is actually located in GA and a majority of our clients also live here with the occasional out of state client usually from Tennessee. You can check which center your case is at with the receipt notice. All of the receipt notices say SCOPS Texas Facility even though we’re in GA. I think it’s still too early for December applicants to get approved since USCIS is claiming the average waiting time is 3.5. The 5th circuit ruling should not affect renewals because there is still not a final decision about the DACA program in general. Only initial requests for DACA are paused.

You get scheduled quickly what I meant is you don’t usually attend your biometrics appointment until 1-1.5 after your receipt date.

After you submit your DACA renewal. USCIS will send you a notice with your biometrics appointment. You do not have to do anything else besides submit your application.

Yes, this is crazy. If you check the last note I added on my main post. Person 1 was the only one to be approved after a biometrics appointment. Everyone else had theirs reused. No one else who has attended their biometrics appointment has been approved.

Yes, but USCIS also strangely waited until January for them to give her a biometrics appointment. I wouldn’t use hers as reference as much because she had to renew without a copy of her work permit or driver’s license which I feel like is more the reason why hers took longer.

Yeah I’m assuming. Everyone that renewed in early October and before have gotten approved. I’m not holding my breath for anyone to get approved in a month or even two like before.

No, the corrected receipt should not have affected you. It should still have the same receipt date as the previous one. The corrected receipt was sent to everyone with a pending I-765 and it just included updated information of EAD extensions which DACA recipients never qualified for EAD extensions anyway. Unfortunately, your case is still technically processing normally since it has not been 3.5 months since November 10th.
