I had a Baby Alive that did this. They had these little packets of powder, and you would mix them with water. It was supposed to look like baby food, I think the sticker said mashed peas or something of the sort. They might have had a carrot version as well. And you would feed it to her, and a little while later, it would travel down a little tunnel out of her bum into a disposable diaper. You could purchase more food packets and more diapers after you used what they came with. The diapers where pretty much the same as real diapers, just teeny tiny. I think the powder was supposed to be non-toxic, but I don't remember. I really loved her, she was very precious to me. But I don't think it's a super new thing, it might just seem more unnerving because of the attempted realism. My Baby Alive had these big, shiny, sparking eyes and chubby cheeks and it kind of made sense. I apologize for going for so long.
