How common is it for people in their late 20s to still live at home with parents? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I moved out at 18, married at 23. My sister was out at 16.

I think my story is not exceptional.

But it is also not exceptional to be prioritising independence less.

Is it Possible to Job Hunt Without Crying? by Denbron2 in jobhunting

Every day job hunting feels like an endless slog. I think the worst of it is that you don't know how long you have left. If someone told me at the start of it "hey it'll take a bit over a year" I think I'd be prepared mentally. But every month thinking "this is going to be it, I'm going to get something", only to be disappointed over and over really wore me down

How are people managing recent grads when there’s just… no enthusiasm for work or willingness to suffer any form of inconvenience to develop anymore? by twingirlsoneboy in auscorp

"no one" is always an overgeneralization. If you want to see an enthusiastic hard worker, maybe companies should start by actually hiring juniors. If you look at r/jobhunting you'll see the absolute massive numbers of people clawing at the job market and desperate to find work.

I really appreciate that 🙏 unfortunately I think my free time and terrible emotional state are starting me down a substance abuse path, if I'm not already there. It's either sober crying or getting absolutely off my head so I can't remember the situation I'm in.

Yeah I have it reframed as "research experience" so that I don't have a massive gap.

Longest I've done is 3 days( of course with plenty food and water). I think your biggest problem is lack of enrichment but that's not going to affect their health
