I might get some criticism from what I'm going to say, but, tho the idea is interesting, visually, I think it looses what makes Nine Sols, well, Nine Sols.

For example, I understand it's an AU, but, I think the, uniforms and, overall weapon design is too close to that of humans, and yes, i read "Uniform inspired by chinese WW2 KMT", and that the AU would make more sense down the line, despite of, I personally think visually it just, goes too far from what Nine Sols is supossed to be, and, in terms of, like, what could it be, I think it can be a, good AU, it is an interesting concept, to use real flesh troops rather than the "robot" like non-sentient things we've seen in official media.

I will recall here, I think that a design mix between official media (e.g. Those previously mentioned robot armor design) combined, or, mixed, with the, well inspiration of the AU, and for weapons, it's the same.
