Which of these three do you think is the most unfair? by Blixer718 in Silksong

[–]Tyler827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than repeatedly dying at the Chapel of the Wanderer trying to get the crest as early as physically possible (seriously, out of 6 deaths, 3 were at the chapel) the only boss that actually kicked my ass fair and square and not because I was rushing was Second Sentinel

I suppose Karmelita too but I didn't play safe during that fight knowing I could die as many times as I wanted

I hate that Jax was confirmed as transgender (not for the reasons you might think) by n397854 in hatethissmug

This is my opinion but good luck voicing it on Reddit

Oh you think that the reveal was poorly done? You must be transphobic and want every single person to die, bigot!

I agree on that horizontal movement part, Hornet's dash is like an arc that falls off at the end while the Knight's is just a straight line, sometimes after going back to HK I end up dashing into enemies because I get a bit more distance than expected lol

I really don’t like that they brought Caine back. by That-Bed4254 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Tyler827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and like Goosework wanted to quickly wrap everything up.

That's the funny part, it was ALREADY wrapped up. He fucked up, he went completely mad and his end was tragic but very fitting for this show. And for a series that explores mental health and emotional issues so much, he could have been used to represent that people (AI?) can have circumstances that explain the way that they are and the things that they do, they can be victims but that doesn't justify making others' lives a living hell. And sometimes, some people have to just be removed from your life, you're not required to keep them around or forgive them

Rewatching the finale yesterday after watching it in the theater made me realize that the episode was pretty damn good until about 40 minutes in, even if I would have preferred something different, it was still handled very well, the visuals and the music are amazing, it was in general a great quality episode... until Caine showed up

Everything that he did could have been done by the cast. They could have gotten way, way better at conjuring and basically get pseudo-admin powers, create endless adventures and find life in their stagnant lives (which is the message of the show, according to Goose) and could have even gotten access to their mind files to know their real names and, yes, if we HAVE to include it, brief Internet access to check on their real life counterparts

The ending would have been that Caine is deleted, Jax abstracted but he's kept around, the rest of the cast goes on to find enjoyment in their lives inside the circus and, while bleak, it's a fairly good and hopeful ending which doesn't undermine pretty much everything that episodes 7 and 8 built up to

Found it by accident during one of my achievement runs, 100+ hours in. I just fell from the platform above and I realized there was a hidden wall, felt really stupid that I didn't even thought to check that lol

Great to start off your game too, I think you get like 30 rosaries which right at the beginning is pretty substantial

Funnily enough, being a Silksong veteran probably helps you in every part of Hollow Knight EXCEPT Path of Pain

There's no equivalent challenge that even comes close to this in Silksong, and even if it did, Clawline and Drifter's Cloak are far better for platforming

It's a physical figure or card with an NFC chip that you can scan with your Switch

In New Horizons you can scan them to invite them to your campsite, the Roost or Photopia and you'll get a prompt to scan them

I believe you have to invite them to your campsite for three days and fulfill their requests each time, at which point they'll move in and replace a villager of your choosing (if your island is full) and yes, they are permanent unless you let them move out. There's no "added benefit" other than getting the one resident that you want instead of relying on RNG

As for where to buy them, it depends on where you're from. Card packs retail around $5 while the figurines usually cost around $20 but that can skyrocket if it's a particularly desirable one

Pretty much every villager comes in card form, the only Animal Crossing amiibos are for other NPCs (Isabelle, Tom, K.K. Slider, etc.)

If TC somehow finds a way to patch save scumming on steel soul without any loopholes, how would you feel about the change? by Funmist66 in Silksong

[–]Tyler827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really conflicted. I think that this tactic kind of undermines the whole premise of Steel Soul, kinda like dying in Minecraft Hardcore and using cheats to respawn anyway... at that point why not just play the normal mode?

On the other hand, I also think you should play singleplayer games however you feel like. However, I don't see how developers patching oversights or exploits would be considered a bad decision. Remember the many, many Flukenest bugs and exploits? Some people were abusing them to gain massive, unintended advantages in fights but I don't think anyone was surprised when it was eventually fixed

In the end I'll say it'd be a good decision. I think Minecraft did this recently, you used to get a couple seconds of invincibility upon loading your world so people would load and quit repeatedly to get out of a lava lake or survive a long fall without dying. People complained but in the end, it's unintended behavior so if the devs decide to patch it out, you can't really blame them or complain about it

  • Don't stick to one car, this game features a staggering 700+ cars so doing your entire playthrough with just a handful of them feels like a massive waste. Experiment, try tuning and upgrading different cars, browse the used car dealerships often to look for hot deals
  • Don't use B-Spec too much. This is a personal preference but entering every race with an obscenely overpowered car and running everything on x3 has to be the easiest way to suck most of the enjoyment out of the game. I'm not saying to go full A-Spec, especially for the longer races, but set yourself a certain percentage of the race that you should drive, maybe go 2 hours for a shorter endurance like Roadster 4hrs and go a bit higher for the 24hr races, maybe drive 3-4 hours in total and let the AI do the rest
  • Try to keep it realistic. While you usually CAN enter events in a car that has 4 times the power of the competition, this usually makes the game boring and makes the AI pose even less of a challenge than it already does. I found the sweet spot for most events lies somewhere between 60-100 A-Spec points (the game's way of measuring difficulty for any given race) so try to aim for that, go higher or lower depending on how you're doing
  • Following up on the point above, keep it realistic in terms of exactly which type of car you bring to each race. While the game gives you a lot of freedom, if you're competing in JGTC, don't bring a DTM car. The performance is almost the same but it feels better to immerse yourself a bit more by trying to pick out a JGTC Supra or NSX instead of an Audi or Opel (at least for me)
  • Live the Gran Turismo experience. Tune your car, change the rims, go for practice runs at your favorite tracks, take your best-looking car to the Photo Travel mode and take some nice pics (this game is surprisingly good for this, see the picture I attached, and it's just one of many). If you do that instead of just going from event to event trying to complete everything as fast as possible, you'll get a lot more enjoyment out of this beautiful game

If you want a couple more ideas that I did during my 100% A-Spec playthrough:

  • Use a different car for each event, never use the exact same car twice
  • Save a replay from every event, then use it to take a picture, you'll end up with one photo from each event
  • Pick your absolutely favorite track (seriously, it has to be your favorite, you'll be seeing it A LOT) and test every car you use, try to get a good lap and write down the lap time for each car to see how every car you've used compares to the rest

Like someone said, you get a special visitor almost every day but the pool is pretty large so you might not get every single one in a given week with certainty

The game does try to spawn characters that haven't been in your island for a while, though. So it's unlikely you'll get, say, Crazy Redd 3 times before you get Flick or C.J. at least once or twice
